Installation [12/2017 - ]: Procedure

  1. INSTALL OIL COOLER BRACKET 
    1. Install the oil cooler bracket with the 3 bolts.

      Torque: 8.0 N.m (82 kgf/cm, 71 in.lbf)

      HINT: 

      Tighten the bolts in the tightening order shown in the illustration.

    2. Connect the wire harness to the oil cooler bracket.

  2. INSTALL OIL COOLER ASSEMBLY 
    1. Install the oil cooler assembly with the 3 bolts.

      Torque: 8.0 N.m (82 kgf/cm, 71 in.lbf)

      HINT: 

      Tighten the bolts in the tightening order shown in the illustration.

  3. INSTALL NO. 1 WATER BY-PASS HOSE 
    1. Install the No. 1 water by-pass hose to the oil cooler assembly and water outlet sub-assembly, and slide the 2 hose clips to secure the hose.
      NOTE:
      • The hose clip claw position is within the range shown in the illustration.
      • Do not deform the oil cooler assembly.
      • When installing the No. 1 water by-pass hose, do not twist the No. 1 water by-pass hose.
      • Water or washer fluid can be used to assist with inserting the hose, however when using liquid other than water, dilute it to 50% concentration or less before use.
      • Install the No. 1 water by-pass hose so that its paint marks are within the allowable range (3 paint lines) of the paint marks of the oil cooler assembly.
    2. Attach the No. 1 water by-pass hose to the clamp.

  4. INSTALL NO. 1 OIL COOLER INLET HOSE 
    1. Install the No. 1 oil cooler inlet hose to the No. 1 oil cooler inlet tube and oil cooler assembly, and slide the 2 hose clips to secure the hose.
      NOTE:
      • Do not deform the oil cooler assembly.
      • When connecting the hose, align with the colors and positions of the paint mark before connecting.
      • When installing the No. 1 oil cooler inlet hose, do not twist the No. 1 oil cooler inlet hose.

  5. INSTALL NO. 1 OIL COOLER OUTLET HOSE 
    1. Install the No. 1 oil cooler outlet hose to the oil cooler assembly and No. 1 oil cooler outlet tube, and slide the 2 hose clips to secure the hose.
      NOTE:
      • Do not deform the oil cooler assembly.
      • When connecting the hose, align with the colors and positions of the paint mark before connecting.
      • Install the No. 1 oil cooler outlet hose so that its hose marks are within the allowable range of the paint marks of the oil cooler assembly.
      • When installing the No. 1 oil cooler outlet hose, do not twist the No. 1 oil cooler outlet hose.

  6. INSTALL WATER INLET HOSE 
    1. Install the water inlet hose to the No. 3 radiator hose and oil cooler assembly, and slide the 2 hose clips to secure the hose.

      *a 2.0 to 7.0 mm (0.0787 to 0.276 in.)
      *b Paint Mark

      *d Outside permissible range for paint mark position
      *e Clamp Range 120°
      *f Front of vehicle
      *g Left side of vehicle
      NOTE:

  7. INSTALL RADIATOR RESERVE TANK ASSEMBLY

  8. INSTALL AIR CLEANER ASSEMBLY RH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 128 [12/2017 - 09/2018] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 128 [09/2018 - 10/2020] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 128 [10/2020 - 10/2023] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 128 [10/2023 - ]

  9. INSTALL RADIATOR SUPPORT TO CROSS MEMBER BRACE SUB-ASSEMBLY RH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 132 [12/2017 - 09/2018] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 132 [09/2018 - 10/2020] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 132 [10/2020 - 10/2023] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 132 [10/2023 - ]

  10. ADD ENGINE COOLANT 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 9

  11. INSTALL LOWER RADIATOR AIR DEFLECTOR 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 189 [12/2017 - 09/2018] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 189 [09/2018 - 10/2020] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 190 [10/2020 - 10/2023] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 189 [10/2023 - ]

  12. INSTALL UPPER RADIATOR SUPPORT SEAL 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 190 [12/2017 - 09/2018] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 190 [09/2018 - 10/2020] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 191 [10/2020 - 10/2023] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 190 [10/2023 - ]

  13. INSTALL RADIATOR COVER PLATE 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 191 [12/2017 - 09/2018] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 191 [09/2018 - 10/2020] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 192 [10/2020 - 10/2023] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 191 [10/2023 - ]

  14. INSTALL V-BANK COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 192 [12/2017 - 09/2018] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 192 [09/2018 - 10/2020] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 193 [10/2020 - 10/2023] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 192 [10/2023 - ]

  15. ADD AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION FLUID 

    See step  5 [12/2017 - 09/2019], or see step  5 [09/2019 - 10/2020], or see step  5 [10/2020 - 10/2023], or see step  8 [10/2023 - ]

  16. ADJUST AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION FLUID

  17. INSPECT FOR COOLANT LEAK 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3

  18. INSTALL STRUT BAR BRACKET SUPPORT SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 184 [12/2017 - 09/2018] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 184 [09/2018 - 10/2020] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 185 [10/2020 - 10/2023] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 184 [10/2023 - ]

  19. INSTALL FRONT SUSPENSION MEMBER BRACE 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 185 [12/2017 - 09/2018] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 185 [09/2018 - 10/2020] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 186 [10/2020 - 10/2023] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 185 [10/2023 - ]

  20. INSTALL NO. 2 ENGINE UNDER COVER ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 186 [12/2017 - 09/2018] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 186 [09/2018 - 10/2020] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 187 [10/2020 - 10/2023] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 186 [10/2023 - ]

  21. INSTALL TRANSMISSION UNDER COVER

  22. INSTALL NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER ASSEMBLY

  23. AFTER FILLING AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION

  24. ATF THERMAL DEGRADATION ESTIMATE RESET 
    NOTE:

    Approximately 50% or more of the ATF has been replaced during a repair of the transmission or a similar operation.
