Installation [12/2017 - 10/2020]: Procedure

  1. INSTALL FRONT LOWER SHOCK ABSORBER BRACKET SUB-ASSEMBLY LH 

    See step  2

  2. TEMPORARILY TIGHTEN FRONT PNEUMATIC CYLINDER WITH SHOCK ABSORBER ASSEMBLY LH 
    1. Install the nut.

      Torque: 8.5 N.m (87 kgf/cm, 75 in.lbf)

      *a Paintmark

      When installing a new front pneumatic cylinder with shock absorber assembly LH:

      1. Align the paintmarks on the front suspension support assembly and pneumatic cylinder chamber.

      *a Matchmark

      When reusing the front pneumatic cylinder with shock absorber assembly LH:

      1. Install 2 new O-rings, a new plate and new tube connector to the front pneumatic cylinder with shock absorber assembly LH.

        Refer to PRECAUTION [12/2017 - ]

      2. Align the matchmarks on the front suspension support assembly and pneumatic cylinder chamber.
    4. Install the front pneumatic cylinder with shock absorber assembly LH (upper side) with the 3 nuts.

      Torque: 44 N.m (449 kgf/cm, 32 ft.lbf)

    5. Engage the guide to Connect the absorber control wire.

    6. Install the bolt.

      Torque: 8.5 N.m (87 kgf/cm, 75 in.lbf) 

    7. Connect the connector.
    8. Install the front lower shock absorber bracket sub-assembly LH to the front lower suspension arm assembly LH.
    9. Align the protrusion of the front upper shock absorber bracket plate with cutout of the front lower shock absorber bracket sub-assembly LH, and temporarily install the nut.

      HINT: 

      Fully tighten the nut after stabilizing the suspension.

  3. CONNECT NO. 4 HEIGHT CONTROL TUBE 

    See step  2

  4. INSTALL FRONT STABILIZER LINK ASSEMBLY LH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2

  5. CONNECT FRONT HEIGHT CONTROL SENSOR SUB-ASSEMBLY LH 

    See step  5

  6. INSTALL FRONT FLEXIBLE HOSE BRACKET LH 

    See step  6

  7. INSTALL STEERING KNUCKLE LH 

    Refer to INSTALLATION [12/2017 - 10/2020]

  8. AIR MOVEMENT (WHEN REPLACING A FRONT PNEUMATIC CYLINDER) 

    HINT: 

    Move the air pressure according to the instructions on the Techstream.

  9. AIR MOVEMENT (WHEN REPLACING THE 2 FRONT PNEUMATIC CYLINDERS) 

    HINT: 

    Move the air pressure according to the instructions on the Techstream.

  10. STABILIZE SUSPENSION 
    1. Install the front wheel.
    2. Lower the vehicle and bounce it up and down several times to stabilize the front suspension.
    3. Remove the front wheel.
    4. Jack up the front lower suspension arm assembly, and place a wooden block under it to avoid damage. Apply load to the suspension so that the front lower suspension arm assembly is placed in a horizontal position.

      WARNING:
      • Do not raise the jack up too high.
      • The vehicle could fall, resulting in a serious accident.

      NOTE:
      • When jacking up the front lower suspension arm assembly, be sure to jack it up slowly.
      • Make sure to perform this operation with the vehicle kept as low as possible.
  11. FULLY TIGHTEN FRONT PNEUMATIC CYLINDER WITH SHOCK ABSORBER ASSEMBLY LH 
    1. Fully tighten the front lower shock absorber bracket sub-assembly LH nut.

      Torque: 112 N.m (1142 kgf/cm, 83 ft.lbf)

  12. INSTALL FRONT SHOCK ABSORBER CAP LH 

    See step  10

  13. INSTALL FRONT WHEEL 

    Refer to INSTALLATION [12/2017 - 10/2023]

  14. INSTALL UPPER RADIATOR SUPPORT SEAL (for LH Side) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 9

  15. INSTALL RADIATOR COVER PLATE (for RH Side) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 10

  16. CHECK CONNECTIONS OF TUBES FOR AIR LEAKAGE 

    Refer to OPERATION CHECK [12/2017 - ]

  17. INSPECT AND ADJUST FRONT WHEEL ALIGNMENT 

    Refer to ADJUSTMENT [12/2017 - 09/2018] , or refer to ADJUSTMENT [09/2018 - 10/2020]

  18. INSPECT AND ADJUST VEHICLE HEIGHT 

    Refer to ADJUSTMENT [12/2017 - 10/2020]

  19. CHECK HEIGHT CHANGE OPERATION 

    Refer to OPERATION CHECK [12/2017 - ]

  20. PERFORM INITIALIZATION 

    Refer to INITIALIZATION [12/2017 - 09/2018] , or refer to INITIALIZATION [09/2018 - 10/2020]

  21. ADJUST HEADLIGHT AIMING 

    Refer to ADJUSTMENT [12/2017 - 10/2020]
