Removal [12/2017 - 09/2018]: Procedure

  1. REMOVE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION ASSEMBLY (for 2WD) 

    Refer to REMOVAL [12/2017 - 09/2018]

  2. REMOVE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION ASSEMBLY WITH TRANSFER (for AWD) 

    Refer to REMOVAL [12/2017 - 09/2018]

  3. REMOVE DRIVE PLATE AND RING GEAR SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Using SST, hold the crankshaft pulley.

      • SST: 09213-54015 
        1. 09213-70020
      • SST: 09330-00021 
    2. Remove the 10 bolts, rear drive plate spacer, drive plate and ring gear sub-assembly and crankshaft angle sensor rotor.

  4. REMOVE REAR ENGINE OIL SEAL

      *a Protective Tape
      *b Cut Position

      Using a knife, cut through the lip of the rear engine oil seal.

    2. Using a screwdriver, pry out the rear engine oil seal.
      NOTE:

      After removal, check the crankshaft for damage.

      If it is damaged, smooth the surface with 400-grit sandpaper.

      HINT: 

      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
