Installation [12/2017 - 10/2020]: Procedure

  1. INSTALL TIMING CHAIN CASE OIL SEAL 
    1. Apply MP grease to the lip of a new timing chain case oil seal.
      NOTE:
      • Do not allow foreign matter to contact the lip of the timing chain case oil seal.
      • Do not allow MP grease to contact the dust seal.
    2. Install the timing gear case or the timing chain case oil seal to SST.
    3. Set SST and the crankshaft pulley set bolt as shown in the illustration.

      HINT: 

      Make sure to leave the crankshaft pulley set bolt screwed into the crankshaft by 2 or 3 threads.

      *1 Crankshaft Pulley Set Bolt
      *2 Timing Chain or Belt Cover Sub-assembly
      *3 Timing Chain Case Oil Seal
      *a Oil Seal Protrusion Height
    4. Using SST and the crankshaft pulley set bolt, evenly tap in the timing chain case oil seal until its surface is flush with the end face of the timing chain or belt cover sub-assembly.
      • SST: 09223-51010 

      Oil Seal Protrusion Height

      0 to 0.5 mm (0 to 0.0197 in.)

      NOTE:
      • Do not tap the timing chain case oil seal at an angle.
      • Keep the lip free of foreign matter.
  2. INSTALL CRANKSHAFT PULLEY 
    1. Align the crankshaft timing gear key with the key groove of the crankshaft pulley, and slide on the crankshaft pulley.

      *a Hold
      Turn
    2. Using SST, install the crankshaft pulley set bolt.
      • SST: 09213-54015 
        1. 09213-70020
      • SST: 09330-00021 

      Torque: 365 N*m (3722 kgf*cm, 269 ft.*lbf) 

  3. INSTALL CRANKSHAFT DAMPER SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Install the crankshaft damper sub-assembly with the 2 bolts.

      Torque: 24 N*m (245 kgf*cm, 18 ft.*lbf)

  4. INSTALL CRANKSHAFT PULLEY COVER 
    1. Install the crankshaft pulley cover with the 2 bolts.

      Torque: 24 N*m (245 kgf*cm, 18 ft.*lbf)

      *1 Crankshaft Pulley Cover
      *a Paint Mark
      Front Side
      NOTE:

      Install so the paint mark is facing the front side.

  5. INSTALL FAN AND GENERATOR V BELT 

    Refer to INSTALLATION [12/2017 - ]

  6. ADD ENGINE OIL 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 13

  7. INSPECT ENGINE OIL LEVEL 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1

  8. INSPECT FOR OIL LEAK 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 15
