Installation [09/2018 - ]: Procedure
- INSTALL NO. 1 TURBO INSULATOR STAY
- Install the No. 1 turbo insulator stay to the cylinder block sub-assembly with the 2 bolts.
Torque: 21 N.m (214 kgf/cm, 15 ft.lbf)
- Install the No. 1 turbo insulator stay to the cylinder block sub-assembly with the 2 bolts.
- INSTALL NO. 5 ENGINE COVER
- Install the No. 5 engine cover to the cylinder block sub-assembly.
- INSTALL NO. 4 ENGINE COVER
- Install the No. 4 engine cover to the cylinder block sub-assembly.
- INSTALL NO. 2 TURBO WATER PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY
- Install a new gasket as shown in the illustration.
*a Protrusion NOTE:- The claws of the gasket must face the No. 2 turbo water pipe sub-assembly.
- Install the gasket so that its protrusion faces down as shown in the illustration.
- Install the No. 2 turbo water pipe sub-assembly to the No. 2 turbocharger sub-assembly with the 3 bolts.
Torque: 10 N.m (102 kgf/cm, 7 ft.lbf)
- Install a new gasket as shown in the illustration.
- INSTALL NO. 1 TURBO WATER PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY
- Install a new gasket as shown in the illustration.
*a Protrusion NOTE:- The claws of the gasket must face the No. 2 turbo water pipe sub-assembly.
- Install the gasket so that its protrusion faces down as shown in the illustration.
- Install the No. 2 turbo water pipe sub-assembly to the No. 1 turbocharger sub-assembly with the 3 bolts.
Torque: 10 N.m (102 kgf/cm, 7 ft.lbf)
- Install a new gasket as shown in the illustration.
- INSTALL NO. 2 AIR INLET DUCT SUB-ASSEMBLY
- Install a new gasket to the No. 2 air inlet duct sub-assembly with the protrusion of the gasket.
*a Protrusion NOTE:Check that the gasket is securely fitted into the groove on the No. 2 air inlet duct sub-assembly.
- Install the No. 2 air inlet duct sub-assembly to the No. 1 turbocharger sub-assembly with the 2 bolts.
Torque: 21 N.m (214 kgf/cm, 15 ft.lbf)
- Install a new gasket to the No. 2 air inlet duct sub-assembly with the protrusion of the gasket.
- INSTALL NO. 1 AIR INLET DUCT SUB-ASSEMBLY
- Install a new gasket to the No. 1 air inlet duct sub-assembly with the protrusion of the gasket.
*a Protrusion NOTE:Check that the gasket is securely fitted into the groove on the No. 1 air inlet duct sub-assembly.
- Install the No. 1 air inlet duct sub-assembly to the No. 2 turbocharger sub-assembly with the 2 bolts.
Torque: 21 N.m (214 kgf/cm, 15 ft.lbf)
- Install a new gasket to the No. 1 air inlet duct sub-assembly with the protrusion of the gasket.
- INSTALL NO. 2 COMPRESSOR OUTLET ELBOW
- Install a new gasket to the No. 2 compressor outlet elbow.
HINT:
The claws of the gasket must face the No. 2 compressor outlet elbow.
- Install the No. 2 compressor outlet elbow to the No. 1 turbocharger sub-assembly.
Torque: 21 N.m (214 kgf/cm, 15 ft.lbf)
- Install a new gasket to the No. 2 compressor outlet elbow.
- INSTALL NO. 1 COMPRESSOR OUTLET ELBOW
- Install a new gasket to the No. 1 compressor outlet elbow.
HINT:
The claws of the gasket must face the No. 1 compressor outlet elbow.
- Install the No. 1 compressor outlet elbow to the No. 2 turbocharger sub-assembly.
Torque: 21 N.m (214 kgf/cm, 15 ft.lbf)
- Install a new gasket to the No. 1 compressor outlet elbow.
- INSTALL TURBO OIL INLET PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY LH
- INSTALL TURBO OIL INLET PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY RH
- INSTALL NO. 2 TURBOCHARGER SUB-ASSEMBLY
- Install a new gasket to the cylinder head sub-assembly.
- Temporarily install the No. 2 turbocharger sub-assembly with the 3 nuts and bolt.
- Install a new gasket to the turbo oil inlet pipe sub-assembly RH.
*a Claw HINT:
The claws of the gasket must face the turbo oil inlet pipe sub-assembly RH.
- Install a new gasket to the union bolt.
- Temporarily install the turbo oil inlet pipe sub-assembly RH with the union bolt and 2 bolts.
- Tighten the 3 nuts.
Torque: 43 N.m (438 kgf/cm, 32 ft.lbf)
- Tighten the 2 bolts and union bolt.

Torque: 35 N.m (357 kgf/cm, 26 ft.lbf)
for bolt
Torque: 14.5 N.m (148 kgf/cm, 11 ft.lbf)
NOTE:If the connecting part of the union bolt gasket is cracked, remove the connecting part.
- Install the No. 1 air inlet duct sub-assembly with the bolt.
Torque: 10 N.m (102 kgf/cm, 7 ft.lbf)
- INSTALL NO. 1 TURBOCHARGER SUB-ASSEMBLY
- Install a new gasket to the cylinder head sub-assembly.
- Temporarily install the No. 1 turbocharger sub-assembly with the 3 nuts and bolt.
- Install a new gasket to the turbo oil inlet pipe sub-assembly LH.
*a Claw HINT:
The claws of the gasket must face the turbo oil inlet pipe sub-assembly LH.
- Install a new gasket to the union bolt.
- Temporarily install the turbo oil inlet pipe sub-assembly LH with the union bolt and 2 bolts.
- Tighten the 3 nuts.
Torque: 43 N.m (438 kgf/cm, 32 ft.lbf)
- Tighten the 2 bolts and union bolt.

Torque: 35 N.m (357 kgf/cm, 26 ft.lbf)

Torque: 14.5 N.m (148 kgf/cm, 11 ft.lbf)
NOTE:If the connecting part of the union bolt gasket is cracked, remove the connecting part.
- Install the turbo water pipe stay to the cylinder head cover sub-assembly LH and No. 2 turbo water pipe sub-assembly with the 3 bolts.
Torque: 10 N.m (102 kgf/cm, 7 ft.lbf)
- Install the No. 2 air inlet duct sub-assembly with the bolt.
Torque: 10 N.m (102 kgf/cm, 7 ft.lbf)
- INSTALL NO. 5 TURBO INSULATOR
- Install the No. 5 turbo insulator to the cylinder head sub-assembly with the bolt.
Torque: 21 N.m (214 kgf/cm, 15 ft.lbf)
- Install the No. 5 turbo insulator to the cylinder head sub-assembly with the bolt.
- INSTALL NO. 3 TURBO INSULATOR
- Install the No. 3 turbo insulator with the 2 bolts and nut.
Torque: 25 N.m (255 kgf/cm, 18 ft.lbf)
- Install the No. 3 turbo insulator with the 2 bolts and nut.
- INSTALL NO. 1 TURBO INSULATOR
- Install the No. 1 turbo insulator with the 2 bolts and nut.
Torque: 21 N.m (214 kgf/cm, 15 ft.lbf)
- Install the No. 1 turbo insulator with the 2 bolts and nut.
- INSTALL NO. 1 AIR HOSE
- Install the 2 hose clamps and 2 No. 1 air hoses to the No. 1 compressor outlet elbow and No. 2 compressor outlet elbow.NOTE:
Before installing the No. 1 air hose, No. 1 compressor outlet elbow and No. 2 compressor outlet elbow connections, clean off any oil.
- for Bank 1:
- for Bank 2:
- Install the 2 hose clamps and 2 No. 1 air hoses to the No. 1 compressor outlet elbow and No. 2 compressor outlet elbow.
- CONNECT VACUUM HOSE
- for Bank 1:
Attach the clamp to connect the vacuum hose to the No. 1 air inlet duct sub-assembly.
- for Bank 2:
Attach the 2 clamps to connect the vacuum hose to the No. 2 air inlet duct sub-assembly.
- for Bank 1:
- CONNECT NO. 2 PCV TUBE
- Install a new gasket to the No. 2 air inlet duct sub-assembly with the protrusion of the gasket oriented as shown in the illustration.
*a Protrusion NOTE:Check that the gasket is securely fitted into the groove on the No. 2 air inlet duct sub-assembly.
- Install the No. 2 PCV tube to the No. 2 air inlet duct sub-assembly with the 2 bolts.
Torque: 10 N.m (102 kgf/cm, 7 ft.lbf)
- Install a new gasket to the No. 2 air inlet duct sub-assembly with the protrusion of the gasket oriented as shown in the illustration.
- CONNECT NO. 1 PCV TUBE
- Install a new gasket to the No. 1 air inlet duct sub-assembly with the protrusion of the gasket oriented as shown in the illustration.
*a Protrusion NOTE:Check that the gasket is securely fitted into the groove on the No. 1 air inlet duct sub-assembly.
- Install the No. 1 PCV tube to the No. 1 air inlet duct sub-assembly with the 2 bolts.
Torque: 10 N.m (102 kgf/cm, 7 ft.lbf)
- Install a new gasket to the No. 1 air inlet duct sub-assembly with the protrusion of the gasket oriented as shown in the illustration.
- CONNECT NO. 2 TURBO WATER PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY
- Connect the No. 3 turbo water hose and No. 4 turbo water hose to the No. 2 turbo water pipe sub-assembly and slide the 2 clamps to secure the hoses.NOTE:
Be sure to correctly connect the No. 3 turbo water hose and No. 4 turbo water hose. Incorrect installation may damage the turbocharger sub-assembly.
HINT:
Make sure the paint mark on the pipe side and the paint mark on the hose side are the same color.

- Connect the No. 3 turbo water hose and No. 4 turbo water hose to the No. 2 turbo water pipe sub-assembly and slide the 2 clamps to secure the hoses.
- CONNECT NO. 1 TURBO WATER PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY
- Connect the No. 1 turbo water hose and No. 2 turbo water hose to the No. 1 turbo water pipe sub-assembly and slide the 2 clamps to secure the hoses.NOTE:
Be sure to correctly connect the No. 1 turbo water hose and No. 2 turbo water hose. Incorrect installation may damage the turbocharger sub-assembly.
HINT:
Make sure the paint mark on the pipe side and the paint mark on the hose side are the same color.

- Connect the No. 1 turbo water hose and No. 2 turbo water hose to the No. 1 turbo water pipe sub-assembly and slide the 2 clamps to secure the hoses.
- INSTALL ENGINE OIL LEVEL DIPSTICK GUIDE
- Apply a light coat of engine oil to a new O-ring.
- Install the O-ring to the engine oil level dipstick guide.
- Install the engine oil level dipstick guide with the bolt.
Torque: 10 N.m (102 kgf/cm, 7 ft.lbf)
- Install the engine oil level dipstick to the engine oil level dipstick guide.
- INSTALL CONVERTER ASSEMBLY LH
