Satellite Radio Broadcast cannot be Received [10/2022 - ]: Procedure

  1. CHECK SURROUNDINGS 
    1. Check if the vehicle is in an environment where reception is difficult due to something blocking the area above the vehicle.

      *e In a forest or on tree-lined path *f Between tall buildings

      HINT: 

      If the area above the vehicle is blocked, such as when in a building or tunnel, reception may not be possible.

  3. CHECK DISPLAY SETTING 
    1. Check the display screen.

  4. CHECK CONTRACT CONDITIONS 
    1. Check if the pay-type contract has been extended, or if the contract period has ended.

    1. Perform activation refresh by referring to the satellite radio company website (https://care.siriusxm.com/retailrefresh_view.action).

      HINT: 

      • The SiriusXM radio ID is necessary to perform activation refresh.
      • To display the SiriusXM radio ID, go to setting screen of the SXM Radio, and select "Help and support".

  7. CHECK NO. 3 ANTENNA CORD SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disconnect the antenna connector from the roof antenna assembly.

    2. Disconnect the antenna connector from the No. 2 antenna cord sub-assembly.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A-3 - B-5 Always Below 1 Ω
      A-3a - B-5a Always Below 1 Ω
      A-3 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

  8. CHECK NO. 2 ANTENNA CORD SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disconnect the antenna connector from the No. 3 antenna cord sub-assembly.

    2. Disconnect the antenna connector from the antenna cord sub-assembly.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      B-5 - C-4 Always Below 1 Ω
      B-5a - C-4a Always Below 1 Ω
      B-5 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

  9. CHECK ANTENNA CORD SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disconnect the antenna connector from the No. 2 antenna cord sub-assembly.

    2. Disconnect the antenna connector from the radio receiver assembly.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      C-4 - XM-1 (SXM) Always Below 1 Ω
      C-4a - XM-1a Always Below 1 Ω
      C-4 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    REPLACE ANTENNA CORD SUB-ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [10/2022 - 10/2023]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [10/2023 - ]

  10. REPLACE ROOF ANTENNA ASSEMBLY 
    1. Replace the roof antenna assembly with a new or known good one and check if the same problem occurs again.

      Refer to REMOVAL [10/2022 - 10/2023] , or refer to REMOVAL [10/2023 - ]

      Malfunction disappears.
