Removal [03/2017 - 05/2023]: Procedure

  1. PRECAUTION 
    WARNING:

    Be sure to read precaution thoroughly before servicing.

    Refer to PRECAUTION [03/2017 - 04/2020] , or refer to PRECAUTION [04/2020 - 05/2023]

    NOTE:

    After turning the engine switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal notices before proceeding with work.

    Refer to PRECAUTION [03/2017 - 05/2023]

  2. REMOVE NO. 2 DECK BOARD 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 11 [03/2017 - 01/2021] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 12 [01/2021 - 05/2023]

  3. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2

    WARNING:
    • Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.
    • If the airbag deploys for any reason, it may cause a serious accident.

    NOTE:

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.

    Refer to INITIALIZATION [03/2017 - 04/2020] , or refer to INITIALIZATION [04/2020 - 05/2023]

  4. REMOVE FRONT DOOR TRIM COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY LH (for Driver Side) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 4 [03/2017 - 06/2019] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 4 [06/2019 - 04/2020] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 4 [04/2020 - 05/2023]

  5. REMOVE FRONT DOOR ASSIST GRIP ASSEMBLY RH (for Front Passenger Side) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 8 [03/2017 - 06/2019] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 8 [06/2019 - 04/2020] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 8 [04/2020 - 05/2023]

  6. REMOVE FRONT DOOR TRIM BOARD SUB-ASSEMBLY LH (for Driver Side) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 6 [03/2017 - 06/2019] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 6 [06/2019 - 04/2020] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 6 [04/2020 - 05/2023]

  7. REMOVE FRONT DOOR TRIM BOARD SUB-ASSEMBLY RH (for Front Passenger Side) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 10 [03/2017 - 06/2019] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 10 [06/2019 - 04/2020] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 10 [04/2020 - 05/2023]

  8. REMOVE NO. 1 FRONT DOOR HOLE COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY LH 
    1. Rotate the clip knob 45° counterclockwise and remove the clip.

      *A for Passenger Side *B for Driver Side

      Counterclockwise - -

      HINT: 

      Use the same procedure for the other clips.

  9. REMOVE DOOR SIDE AIRBAG SENSOR LH 
    NOTE:

    Do not push down the upper part of the CPA shown in the illustration when disconnecting the airbag connector.

    1. Check that the power switch is off.
    2. Check that the cable is disconnected from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.
      WARNING:
      • Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

      • If this procedure is performed without disconnecting the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal, the airbag may deploy even if an impact is applied only to the door side airbag sensor LH. Therefore, make sure that the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal is disconnected before performing this procedure.

    3. Disconnect the airbag connector.
      NOTE:

      When disconnecting any airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.

      1. Push down the housing lock and slide the CPA. (At this time, the connector cannot be disconnected yet.)

      2. Push the housing lock again and disconnect the connector.
        NOTE:

        Do not push down the upper part of the CPA shown in the illustration when disconnecting the airbag connector.

      3. After disconnecting the connector, check that the position of the housing lock is correct as shown in the illustration.

    4. Remove the nut.

      NOTE:
      • Loosen the nut while holding the door side airbag sensor LH because the door side airbag sensor LH claw is easily damaged.
      • If the door side airbag sensor LH has been dropped, replace it with a new one.
    5. Detach the claw and remove the side airbag sensor.
