Installation [03/2017 - 05/2023]: Procedure

  1. INSTALL DOOR SIDE AIRBAG SENSOR LH 
    1. Check that the engine switch is off.
    2. Check that the cable is disconnected from the negative (-) battery terminal.
      WARNING:
      • Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

      • If this procedure is performed without disconnecting the negative (-) battery terminal, the airbag may deploy even if an impact is applied only to the door side airbag sensor LH. Therefore, make sure that the negative (-) battery terminal is disconnected before performing this procedure.

    3. Attach the claw to hold the door side airbag sensor LH in place.
    4. Install the nut.

      Torque: 9.0 N.m (92 kgf/cm, 80 in.lbf) 

      NOTE:
      • If the door side airbag sensor LH has been dropped, replace it with a new one.
      • When installing the door side airbag sensor LH, be careful that the SRS wiring does not interfere with or is not pinched between other parts.
      • Tighten the nut while holding the door side airbag sensor LH.
    5. Check that there is no looseness in the installation parts of the door side airbag sensor LH.
    6. Connect the airbag connector.
      NOTE:

      When connecting any airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.

      1. Before connecting the connector, check that the position of the housing lock is correct as shown in the illustration.

      2. While holding the CPA be sure to engage the connectors until they are locked and check that the CPA is in its original position (when locking, make sure that a click sound can be heard).
        NOTE:

        Do not push down the upper part of the CPA shown in the illustration when connecting the airbag connector.

  2. INSTALL NO. 1 FRONT DOOR HOLE COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY LH 
    1. for Driver Side:
      1. Align with the installation holes on the vehicle side and No. 1 front door hole cover sub-assembly LH.
      2. Pass the clip through the installation holes so that the clip knob is perpendicular.

        Rotate in this Direction
      3. With the clip knob installed perpendicular, rotate the clip knob 45° clockwise to align it to the lock mark and lock it.

        HINT: 

        Use the same procedure for the other clips.

    2. for Passenger Side:
      1. Align with the installation holes on the vehicle side and No. 1 front door hole cover sub-assembly RH.
      2. Pass the clip through the installation holes so that the clip knob is perpendicular.

        Rotate in this Direction
      3. With the clip knob installed perpendicular, rotate the clip knob 45° clockwise to align it to the lock mark and lock it.

        HINT: 

        Use the same procedure for the other clips.

    3. Check that the clip knob is in the lock position.
  3. INSTALL FRONT DOOR TRIM BOARD SUB-ASSEMBLY LH (for Driver Side) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 39 [03/2017 - 06/2019] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 39 [06/2019 - 04/2020] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 39 [04/2020 - 05/2023]

  4. INSTALL FRONT DOOR TRIM BOARD SUB-ASSEMBLY RH (for Front Passenger Side) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 43 [03/2017 - 06/2019] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 43 [06/2019 - 04/2020] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 43 [04/2020 - 05/2023]

  5. INSTALL FRONT DOOR TRIM COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY LH (for Driver Side) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 41 [03/2017 - 06/2019] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 41 [06/2019 - 04/2020] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 41 [04/2020 - 05/2023]

  6. INSTALL FRONT DOOR ASSIST GRIP ASSEMBLY RH (for Front Passenger Side) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 45 [03/2017 - 06/2019] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 45 [06/2019 - 04/2020] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 45 [04/2020 - 05/2023]

  7. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2

    NOTE:

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.

    Refer to INITIALIZATION [03/2017 - 04/2020] , or refer to INITIALIZATION [04/2020 - 05/2023]

  8. INSTALL NO. 2 DECK BOARD 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 13 [03/2017 - 01/2021] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 13 [01/2021 - ]

  9. PERFORM DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK 

    Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [03/2017 - 04/2020] , or refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [04/2020 - ]

  10. CHECK SRS WARNING LIGHT 

    Refer to OPERATION CHECK [03/2017 - 04/2020] , or refer to OPERATION CHECK [04/2020 - ]
