DTC B15C3: Speaker Output Short [10/2022 - 05/2023]: Procedure

  1. CHECK DTC 
    1. Clear the DTCs.

      Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [10/2022 - 05/2023]

      Body Electrical > Navigation System > Clear DTCs 

    2. Recheck for DTCs and check that no DTCs are output.

      Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [10/2022 - 05/2023]

      Body Electrical > Navigation System > Trouble Codes 

      OK

      No DTCs are output.

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    USE SIMULATION METHOD TO CHECK. Refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [04/2020 - 05/2023]

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SPEAKER CIRCUIT) 
    1. *1: for LH Side

      *2: for RH Side

      *3: for 13 Speakers

    1. Disconnect the X49 stereo component amplifier assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the Q5*1 and/or Q6*2 front No. 1 speaker assembly connector.
    3. Disconnect the S1*1 and/or R1*2 No. 1 speaker with box assembly connector.
    4. Disconnect the X41*1 and/or X40*2 No. 2 speaker with box assembly connector.
    5. Disconnect the Q7 front No. 2 speaker assembly connector.
    6. Disconnect the X11 No. 3 speaker with box assembly connector.
    7. Disconnect the P134 DCM (telematics transceiver) connector.
    8. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

    1. Remove the No. 1 speaker with box assembly.

    2. Inspect the No. 1 speaker with box assembly.

      Refer to INSPECTION [03/2017 - 05/2023]

      Result

    REPLACE NO. 1 SPEAKER WITH BOX ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [03/2017 - ]

  5. INSPECT NO. 3 SPEAKER WITH BOX ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the No. 3 speaker with box assembly.

      Refer to REMOVAL [03/2017 - ]

    2. Inspect the No. 3 speaker with box assembly.

      Refer to INSPECTION [03/2017 - ]

      Result

    REPLACE NO. 3 SPEAKER WITH BOX ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [03/2017 - ]

  6. INSPECT FRONT NO. 2 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the front No. 2 speaker assembly.

      Refer to REMOVAL [03/2017 - ]

    2. Inspect the front No. 2 speaker assembly.

      Refer to INSPECTION [03/2017 - ]

      Result

    REPLACE FRONT NO. 2 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [03/2017 - ]

  7. INSPECT DCM (TELEMATICS TRANSCEIVER) (SPO+, SPO-, SPI+, SPI-) 
    1. Remove the DCM (telematics transceiver).

      Refer to REMOVAL [04/2020 - 05/2023]

      *a Component without harness connected
      (DCM [Telematics Transceiver])
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      1 (SPI+) - 3 (SPO+) Always Below 1 Ω
      2 (SPI-) - 4 (SPO-) Always Below 1 Ω
      1 (SPI+) - 2 (SPI-) Always 10 kΩ or higher
      3 (SPO+) - 4 (SPO-) Always 10 kΩ or higher

    REPLACE DCM (TELEMATICS TRANSCEIVER). Refer to  REMOVAL [04/2020 - 05/2023]

  8. CHECK FRONT NO. 1 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY 
    1. Replace the front No. 1 speaker assembly with a new or known good one.

      Refer to REMOVAL [03/2017 - ]

    2. Clear the DTCs.

      Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [10/2022 - 05/2023]

      Body Electrical > Navigation System > Clear DTCs 

    3. Recheck for DTCs and check that no DTCs are output.

      Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [10/2022 - 05/2023]

      Body Electrical > Navigation System > Trouble Codes 

      OK

      No DTCs are output.

      Result

  9. CHECK NO. 2 SPEAKER WITH BOX ASSEMBLY 
    1. Replace the No. 2 speaker with box assembly with a new or known good one.

      Refer to REMOVAL [03/2017 - 05/2023]

    2. Clear the DTCs.

      Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [10/2022 - 05/2023]

      Body Electrical > Navigation System > Clear DTCs 

    3. Recheck for DTCs and check that no DTCs are output.

      Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [10/2022 - 05/2023]

      Body Electrical > Navigation System > Trouble Codes 

      OK

      No DTCs are output.

      Result

    REPLACE STEREO COMPONENT AMPLIFIER ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [03/2017 - 05/2023] 

  10. INSPECT NO. 1 SPEAKER WITH BOX ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the No. 1 speaker with box assembly.

      Refer to REMOVAL [03/2017 - ]

    2. Inspect the No. 1 speaker with box assembly.

      Refer to INSPECTION [03/2017 - 05/2023]

      Result

      Proceed to

      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE NO. 1 SPEAKER WITH BOX ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [03/2017 - ]

    1. Remove the No. 3 speaker with box assembly.
