NOTE:

After turning the engine switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal notices before proceeding with work.

DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2

WARNING:

Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.
If the airbag deploys for any reason, it may cause a serious accident.

NOTE:

When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.

REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY

REMOVE DRIVER SIDE JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY WITH MAIN BODY ECU

REMOVE STOP LIGHT SWITCH ASSEMBLY

Disconnect the connector.

Turn the stop light switch assembly counterclockwise and remove it.

REMOVE STOP LIGHT SWITCH MOUNTING ADJUSTER

Using a screwdriver, detach the claw and remove the stop light switch mounting adjuster.

Protective Tape

NOTE:

The stop light switch mounting adjuster must not be reused.

HINT:

Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
