Installation [10/2015 - ]: Procedure

  1. INSTALL NO. 2 PARKING BRAKE CABLE SUPPORT BRACKET 
    1. Install the No. 2 parking brake cable support bracket in the direction indicated by the arrow shown in the illustration.

  2. INSTALL NO. 1 PARKING BRAKE CABLE SUPPORT BRACKET 
    1. Install the No. 1 parking brake cable support bracket in the direction indicated by the arrow shown in the illustration.

  3. INSTALL PARKING BRAKE CABLE SUPPORT BRACKET 
    1. Install the parking brake cable support bracket in the direction indicated by the arrow shown in the illustration.

  4. APPLY HIGH-TEMPERATURE GREASE 

    See step  1

  5. INSTALL PARKING BRAKE ACTUATOR WITH BRACKET ASSEMBLY 
    1. Install the parking brake actuator with bracket assembly with the 5 nuts.

      Torque: 18 N*m (184 kgf*cm, 13 ft.*lbf) 

    2. Install the electric parking brake actuator cap with the 2 nuts.

      Torque: 5.4 N*m (55 kgf*cm, 48 in.*lbf) 

    3. Install the No. 2 parking brake cable assembly and No. 3 parking brake cable assembly to the rear suspension member sub-assembly with the 6 bolts.

      Torque: 18 N*m (184 kgf*cm, 13 ft.*lbf) 

  6. INSTALL REAR SUSPENSION MEMBER SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to INSTALLATION [10/2015 - ]

  7. CONNECT PARKING BRAKE CABLE 

    Refer to REASSEMBLY [10/2015 - ] 

  8. INSTALL NO. 1 FLOOR UNDER COVER ASSEMBLY 
    1. Engage the 7 grommets to install the No. 1 floor under cover assembly.
    2. Install the 4 clips.
  9. CONNECT WIRE HARNESS 
    1. Pass the connector through the hole to the inside of the vehicle and install the grommet of the parking brake actuator harness.

      *1 Grommet
      *a Outside of Vehicle
      *b Inside of Vehicle
    2. Engage the clamp to install the electric parking brake actuator harness.
    3. Connect the connector.
    4. Install the parking brake plunger protector with the bolt.

      Torque: 8.0 N*m (82 kgf*cm, 71 in.*lbf) 

  10. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2

    NOTE:

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.

  11. ADJUST PARKING BRAKE 

    Refer to ADJUSTMENT [10/2015 - ]

    NOTE:

    If the parking brake shoe clearance is not adjusted, the parking brake cable end may be damaged.

  12. INSPECT AND ADJUST REAR WHEEL ALIGNMENT 

    Refer to ADJUSTMENT [10/2015 - ]

  13. INSPECT SPEED SENSOR SIGNAL 

    Refer to TEST MODE PROCEDURE [10/2015 - 09/2017] Refer to TEST MODE PROCEDURE [09/2017 - ]

  14. PERFORM INITIALIZATION 

    Refer to INITIALIZATION [10/2015 - ]

  15. PERFORM PARKING BRAKE SHOE BEDDING 

    Refer to INITIALIZATION [10/2015 - ]
