Automatic High Beam Switch Circuit [10/2015 - ]: Procedure

  1. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Main Body / Data List.
    5. Read the Data List according to the display on the Techstream.
      MAIN BODY

      Tester Display Measurement Item Range Normal Condition
      Auto High Beam Main Switch Integration control and panel assembly (automatic high beam switch) signal ON or OFF ON: Integration control and panel assembly (automatic high beam switch) pressed
      OFF: Integration control and panel assembly (automatic high beam switch) not pressed

      OK

      Normal conditions listed above are displayed.

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result:  1

    OK 

    PROCEED TO NEXT SUSPECTED AREA SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE. Refer to  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE [10/2015 - ] 

    Result:  2

    NG

  2. INSPECT INTEGRATION CONTROL AND PANEL ASSEMBLY (AUTOMATIC HIGH BEAM SWITCH) 
    1. Remove the integration control and panel assembly (automatic high beam switch).

      Refer to REMOVAL [10/2015 - ]

    2. Inspect the integration control and panel assembly (automatic high beam switch).

      Refer to INSPECTION [10/2015 - ]

      OK

      Integration control and panel assembly (automatic high beam switch) is normal.

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result:  2

    NG 

    REPLACE INTEGRATION CONTROL AND PANEL ASSEMBLY (AUTOMATIC HIGH BEAM SWITCH). Refer to  REMOVAL [10/2015 - ] 

    Result:  1

    OK

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (INTEGRATION CONTROL AND PANEL ASSEMBLY - MAIN BODY ECU (MULTIPLEX NETWORK BODY ECU) AND BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the N13 main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      N6-7 (+B) - N13-17 (AHBI) Always Below 1 Ω
      N6-7 (+B) or N13-17 (AHBI) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      N6-8 (E) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result:  1

    OK 

    REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU (MULTIPLEX NETWORK BODY ECU). Refer to  REMOVAL [09/2014 - ] 

    Result:  2

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
