Removal [07/2015 - ]: Procedure

  1. PRECAUTION 
    NOTE:

    After turning the engine switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal notices before proceeding with work (Refer to PRECAUTION [07/2015 - ] ).

  2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL (for Manual Tilt and Manual Telescopic Steering Column) 
    NOTE:

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected (Refer to INITIALIZATION [07/2015 - ] ).

  3. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL (for Power Tilt and Power Telescopic Steering Column) 
    1. Disable the auto away/return function by changing the customize parameter (Refer to CUSTOMIZE PARAMETERS [07/2015 - ] ).
      NOTE:

      Record the current customize parameter setting (whether the auto away/return function is enabled or disabled) in order to restore the current setting after finishing this operation.

      HINT: 

      Performing the above operation disables the auto away/return function when the engine switch is turned off.

    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG). Operate the tilt and telescopic switch to fully extend and lower the steering column assembly.
    3. Turn the engine switch off and disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
      NOTE:

      When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected (Refer to INITIALIZATION [07/2015 - ] ).

  4. REMOVE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. for Manual Tilt and Manual Telescopic Steering Column:
      1. Operate the tilt and telescopic lever to fully extend and lower the steering column assembly.
    2. Using a moulding remover, disengage the 4 clips and 2 guides.

    3. Remove the 2 screws.

    4. Disengage the 5 claws and 2 guides and remove the instrument cluster finish panel sub-assembly.

  5. REMOVE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the 2 screws.

    2. Disengage the 2 clips.

    3. Disconnect the 2 connectors to remove the combination meter assembly.
