Removal [07/2015 - ]: Procedure
- PRECAUTION WARNING:
Be sure to read Precaution thoroughly before servicing. Refer to PRECAUTION [07/2015 - ]
NOTE:After turning the power switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal notices before proceeding with work. Refer to PRECAUTION [07/2015 - ]
- REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY
Refer to REMOVAL [07/2015 - ] )
- DISCONNECT NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL WIRE
- Check that the power switch is off.
- Check that the cable is disconnected from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.WARNING:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal to disable the SRS system.
- Slide the slider to release the lock, and then disconnect the connector.TEXT IN ILLUSTRATION
*1 Slider NOTE:When disconnecting any airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.
- REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL SAFETY PAD ASSEMBLY
Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 48
- REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL PASSENGER AIRBAG ASSEMBLY WARNING:
When storing the instrument panel passenger airbag assembly, keep the airbag deployment side facing upward.
- REMOVE NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL WIRE
- Disengage the clamp.
- Using a screwdriver with its tip wrapped with protective tape, release the 2 airbag connector locks.TEXT IN ILLUSTRATION
*1 Protective Tape *2 Airbag Connector *3 Airbag Connector Lock - Disconnect the 2 airbag connectors to remove the No. 2 instrument panel wire from the instrument panel passenger airbag assembly.NOTE:
When disconnecting any airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.
- Disengage the clamp.
