DTC B1321: Lost Communication with EMV; DTC B1323: Lost Communication with Haptic Device; DTC B1324: Lost Communication with Meter; DTC B1563: Haptic Device Disconnected [09/2014 - 11/2017]: Procedure

  1. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (RADIO RECEIVER ASSEMBLY - REMOTE TOUCH (REMOTE OPERATION CONTROLLER ASSEMBLY)) 
    1. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
    2. Disconnect the O57 radio receiver assembly connector.
    3. Disconnect the O75 remote touch (remote operation controller assembly) connector.
    4. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      O57-3 (CNH1) - O75-9 (MO+) Always Below 1 Ω
      O57-4 (CNL1) - O75-8 (MO-) Always Below 1 Ω
      O57-3 (CNH1) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      O57-4 (CNL1) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      O75-9 (MO+) - O75-8 (MO-) Always 10 kΩ or higher
      O75-9 (MO+) - O75-1 (+B) Cable disconnected from negative (-) battery terminal 6 kΩ or higher
      O75-8 (MO-) - O75-1 (+B) Cable disconnected from negative (-) battery terminal 6 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    Result: 

    OK

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (RADIO RECEIVER ASSEMBLY - COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
    2. Disconnect the O57 radio receiver assembly connector.
    3. Disconnect the O4 combination meter assembly connector.
    4. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      O57-20 (CNH2) - O4-3 (MSCH) Always Below 1 Ω
      O57-21 (CNL2) - O4-2 (MSCL) Always Below 1 Ω
      O57-20 (CNH2) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      O57-21 (CNL2) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      O4-3 (MSCH) - O4-2 (MSCL) Always 10 kΩ or higher
      O4-3 (MSCH) - O75-1 (+B) Cable disconnected from negative (-) battery terminal 6 kΩ or higher
      O4-2 (MSCL) - O75-1 (+B) Cable disconnected from negative (-) battery terminal 6 kΩ or higher

      Result

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (REMOTE TOUCH (REMOTE OPERATION CONTROLLER ASSEMBLY) POWER SOURCE) 
    1. Reconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
    2. Disconnect the O75 remote touch (remote operation controller assembly) connector.
    3. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      O75-1 (+B) - Body ground Always 11 to 14 V
      O75-6 (ACC) - Body ground Engine switch on (ACC) 11 to 14 V
    4. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      O75-10 (GND) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    Result: 

    OK

  4. INSPECT COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the combination meter assembly.

      Refer to REMOVAL [09/2014 - ]

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      *a Component without harness connected
      (Combination Meter Assembly)

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      3 (MSCH) - 2 (MSCL) Always 108 to 132 Ω

      Result

      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [09/2014 - ]

  5. INSPECT RADIO RECEIVER ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the radio receiver assembly.

      Refer to REMOVAL [09/2014 - 11/2017]

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      *a Component without harness connected
      (Radio Receiver Assembly)

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      3 (CNH1) - 4 (CNL1) Always 108 to 132 Ω
      20 (CNH2) - 21 (CNL2) Always 108 to 132 Ω
      3 (CNH1) - 20 (CNH2) Always Below 1 Ω
      4 (CNL1) - 21 (CNL2) Always Below 1 Ω

      Result

    REPLACE RADIO RECEIVER ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [09/2014 - 11/2017]

  6. REMOTE TOUCH SELF CHECK (CHECK VIBRATION FEEDBACK GENERATION CONDITION) 
    1. Enter self-diagnostic mode.

      Refer to OPERATION CHECK [09/2014 - 11/2017]

    2. Operate the touchpad laterally and check that the remote touch (remote operation controller assembly) generates vibration feedback.
      NOTE:

      Since the touchpad may recognize a pinch in/out or flick operation if operated with 2 fingers, always use 1 finger to operate the touchpad in self-diagnostic mode.

      OK

      Remote touch (remote operation controller assembly) generates vibration feedback.

    REPLACE REMOTE TOUCH (REMOTE OPERATION CONTROLLER ASSEMBLY). Refer to  REMOVAL [09/2014 - ]

  7. REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY 
    1. Replace the combination meter assembly with a new or known good one.

      Refer to REMOVAL [09/2014 - ]

    2. Clear the DTCs.

      Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [09/2014 - 11/2017]

      Body Electrical > Navigation System > Clear DTCs 

    3. Recheck for DTCs and check that no DTCs are output.

      Body Electrical > Navigation System > Trouble Codes 

      OK

      No DTCs are output.

      Result

      Proceed to

  8. CHECK METER / GAUGE SYSTEM 
    1. Turn the engine switch on (IG) and wait 30 seconds.
    2. Operate the steering pad switch assembly and check that the audio tab is displayed on the multi-information display in the combination meter assembly and the audio system can be operated normally.

      OK

      Audio system returns to normal.

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

  9. REPLACE RADIO RECEIVER ASSEMBLY 
    1. Replace the radio receiver assembly with a new or known good one.

      Refer to REMOVAL [09/2014 - 11/2017]

    2. Clear the DTCs.

      Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [09/2014 - 11/2017]

      Body Electrical > Navigation System > Clear DTCs 

    3. Recheck for DTCs and check that no DTCs are output.

      Body Electrical > Navigation System > Trouble Codes 

      OK

      No DTCs are output.

      Result

      Proceed to

      NG

    Result:

    REPLACE REMOTE TOUCH (REMOTE OPERATION CONTROLLER ASSEMBLY). Refer to  REMOVAL [09/2014 - ]

  10. CHECK REMOTE TOUCH (REMOTE OPERATION CONTROLLER ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Turn the engine switch on (IG) and wait 30 seconds.
    2. Check that the navigation system can be operated normally using the remote touch (remote operation controller assembly).

      OK

      Navigation system returns to normal.

      Result

      Proceed to

      NG
