DTC P0740-11: Torque Converter Clutch Circuit Short to Ground [11/2017 - ]: Procedure

1. Disconnect the F87 ECM connector.
2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

   Standard Resistance

   Tester Connection	Condition	Specified Condition
   F87-62 (SL) - Body ground	20°C (68°F)	11 to 15 Ω

   Result

   Proceed to
   OK
   NG

1. Replace the ECM.

PERFORM A/T CODE REGISTRATION. Refer to  REGISTRATION [11/2017 - ] 

1. Disconnect the F61 transmission wire connector.
2. Disconnect the F87 ECM connector.
3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

   Standard Resistance

   Tester Connection	Condition	Specified Condition
   F61-7 (SL) or F87-62 (SL) - Body ground and other terminals	Always	10 kΩ or higher

   Result

   Proceed to
   OK
   NG

NG 

REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

1. Remove the shift solenoid valve SL.

2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

   Standard Resistance

   Tester Connection	Condition	Specified Condition
   Terminal of shift solenoid valve SL connector - Shift solenoid valve SL body	20°C (68°F)	11 to 15 Ω

3. Connect a positive (+) lead from the battery to the terminal of the shift solenoid valve connector, and a negative (-) lead to the shift solenoid valve body. Check that the valve moves and makes an operating sound.

   OK

   Valve moves and makes an operating sound.

   Result

   Proceed to
   OK
   NG

REPAIR OR REPLACE TRANSMISSION WIRE. Refer to  COMPONENTS [09/2014 - ]
