WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 7 other vehicles, including the 2024 Lexus RC 350, 2023 Lexus RC 350, 2022 Lexus RC 350, 2021 Lexus RC 350, and 2020 Lexus RC 350. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (A/T OIL TEMPERATURE NO. 1)
    1. Warm up the engine.
    2. Turn the engine switch off.
    3. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    4. Turn the engine switch on (IG).
    5. Turn the Techstream on.
    6. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Transmission / Data List.
    7. Read the Data List according to the display on the Techstream.

Powertrain > Transmission > Data List

Tester Display Measurement Item Range Normal Condition Diagnostic Note
A/T Oil Temperature No. 1 ATF temperature sensor value Min.: -40°C (-40°F)
      Max.: 150°C (302°F)
      • Approximately 80°C (176°F): After stall speed test
      • Equal to ambient temperature: While engine is cold
If value is -40°C (-40°F) or 150°C (302°F), ATF temperature sensor circuit is open or shorted

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (ATF TEMPERATURE SENSOR - ECM)
    1. Disconnect the F87 ECM connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      F87-86 (THO1) - F87-133 (ETHW) Always 79 Ω to 156 kΩ
F87-86 (THO1) - Body ground and other terminals Always 10 kΩ or higher
F87-133 (ETHW) - Body ground and other terminals Always 10 kΩ or higher

      HINT:

If the resistance is out of the specified range with the ATF temperature shown in the table below, the driveability of the vehicle may decrease.

      ATF Temperature Specified Condition
      10°C (50°F) 5 to 8 kΩ
      25°C (77°F) 2.5 to 4.5 kΩ
      110°C (230°F) 0.22 to 0.28 kΩ
