Installation [11/2017 - ]: Procedure

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 14 other vehicles, including the 2024 Lexus RC 350, 2024 Lexus RC 300, 2023 Lexus RC 350, 2023 Lexus RC 300, and 2022 Lexus RC 350. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. INSTALL NO. 1 EXHAUST MANIFOLD HEAT INSULATOR 
    1. Install the No. 1 exhaust manifold heat insulator to the exhaust manifold sub-assembly LH (TWC: Front Catalyst) with the 3 bolts.

      Torque: 10 N.m (102 kgf/cm, 7 ft.lbf) 

    2. Install the No. 1 exhaust manifold heat insulator to the exhaust manifold sub-assembly RH (TWC: Front Catalyst) with the 3 bolts.

      Torque: 10 N.m (102 kgf/cm, 7 ft.lbf) 

  2. INSTALL EXHAUST MANIFOLD SUB-ASSEMBLY LH (TWC: Front Catalyst) 
    1. Install a new gasket to the cylinder head sub-assembly.
    2. Temporarily install the exhaust manifold sub-assembly LH (TWC: Front Catalyst) with 4 new nuts.

    3. Using a 12 mm deep socket wrench, tighten the 4 nuts in the order shown in the illustration.

      Torque: 21 N.m (214 kgf/cm, 15 ft.lbf) 

  3. INSTALL EXHAUST MANIFOLD SUB-ASSEMBLY RH (TWC: Front Catalyst) 
    1. Install a new gasket to the cylinder head sub-assembly.
    2. Temporarily install the exhaust manifold sub-assembly RH (TWC: Front Catalyst) with 5 new nuts.

    3. Using a 12 mm deep socket wrench, tighten the 5 nuts in the order shown in the illustration.

      Torque: 21 N.m (214 kgf/cm, 15 ft.lbf) 

  4. INSTALL NO. 2 ENGINE OIL LEVEL DIPSTICK GUIDE 
    1. Install a new O-ring to the No. 2 engine oil level dipstick guide.

      HINT: 

      Apply a light coat of engine oil to the O-ring.

    2. Install the No. 2 engine oil level dipstick guide to the cylinder block with the bolt.

      Torque: 21 N.m (214 kgf/cm, 15 ft.lbf) 

    3. Install the engine oil level dipstick.
  5. INSTALL FRONT PROPELLER SHAFT ASSEMBLY (for AWD) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1

  6. INSTALL NO. 1 EXHAUST PIPE SUPPORT BRACKET SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Install the No. 1 exhaust pipe support bracket sub-assembly with the 2 bolts.

      Torque: 43 N.m (438 kgf/cm, 32 ft.lbf) 

  7. INSTALL FRONT EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY (TWC: Rear Catalyst) 

    See step  4

  8. CONNECT HEATED OXYGEN SENSOR 

    See step  5

  9. INSTALL FRONT CENTER FLOOR BRACE 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 82 [11/2017 - 09/2020] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 78 [09/2020 - 10/2022] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 76 [10/2022 - ]

  10. INSTALL FRONT CENTER FLOOR COVER LH (for Full Cover Type) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 83 [11/2017 - 09/2020] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 79 [09/2020 - 10/2022] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 77 [10/2022 - ]

  11. INSTALL FRONT CENTER FLOOR COVER RH (for Full Cover Type) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 84 [11/2017 - 09/2020] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 80 [09/2020 - 10/2022] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 78 [10/2022 - ]

  12. INSTALL FRONT SUSPENSION MEMBER BRACE (for 2WD) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 102

  13. INSTALL AIR FUEL RATIO SENSOR 

    Refer to INSTALLATION [11/2017 - ]

  14. INSPECT FOR EXHAUST GAS LEAK 

    See step  9
