Replacement [09/2014 - ]: Procedure

  1. REMOVE PROPELLER WITH CENTER BEARING SHAFT ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to REMOVAL [09/2014 - 11/2017] , or refer to REMOVAL [11/2017 - ]

  2. REMOVE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION FLANGE YOKE ASSEMBLY 
    1. Using SST and a hammer, release the staked part of the lock nut.
      • SST: 09930-00010 
      NOTE:
      • Use SST with the tapered part facing the shaft.
      • Do not modify the tip of SST with a grinder or other device.
      • Completely release the staked part of the lock nut before removing it.
      • Do not damage the threads of the shaft.

    2. Using SST and a 30 mm deep socket wrench, remove the lock nut.

      *a Hold
      *b Turn
      • SST: 09330-00021 
      • SST: 09950-30012 
        1. 09955-03040
    3. Remove SST.
    4. Tap the automatic transmission flange yoke assembly with a plastic hammer to remove it.
    5. Using a screwdriver, remove the oil seal from the automatic transmission flange yoke assembly.

      *1 Oil Seal
      NOTE:

      Do not damage the automatic transmission flange yoke assembly.

  3. REMOVE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION REAR OIL SEAL 
    1. Using SST, remove the automatic transmission rear oil seal.

      • SST: 09308-00010 
  4. INSTALL AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION REAR OIL SEAL 
    1. Using SST and a hammer, install a new automatic transmission rear oil seal.

      *a Depth
      • SST: 09316-60011 
        1. 09316-00011
        2. 09316-00041
      • SST: 09316-12010 

      Standard Depth

      3.3 to 3.7 mm (0.130 to 0.146 in.)

    2. Coat the lip of the automatic transmission rear oil seal with MP grease.
  5. INSTALL AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION FLANGE YOKE ASSEMBLY 
    1. Using SST and a hammer, install a new oil seal.
      • SST: 09517-36010 

      Standard Depth

      0 to 0.3 mm (0 to 0.0118 in.)

      *1 Oil Seal
    2. Coat the lip of the oil seal with MP grease.
    3. Install the automatic transmission flange yoke assembly.
    4. Using SST and a 30 mm deep socket wrench, install a new lock nut.
      • SST: 09330-00021 
      • SST: 09950-30012 
        1. 09955-03040

      Torque: 135 N.m (1377 kgf/cm, 100 ft.lbf)

      *a Hold
      *b Turn
    5. Using a chisel and hammer, securely stake the lock nut.
  6. INSTALL PROPELLER WITH CENTER BEARING SHAFT ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to INSTALLATION [09/2014 - 11/2017] , or refer to INSTALLATION [11/2017 - ]

  7. ADD AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION FLUID 

    Refer to ADJUSTMENT [09/2014 - 10/2015] , or refer to ADJUSTMENT [10/2015 - 11/2017] , or refer to ADJUSTMENT [11/2017 - 09/2020] , or refer to ADJUSTMENT [09/2020 - ]
