Main Switch Circuit [09/2015 - ]: Procedure

  1. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (MAIN SW) 
    1. Using the Techstream, read the Data List.
      HEADUP DISPLAY

      Tester Display Test Part Control Range Diagnostic Note
      Main Switch Headup display main switch state / ON or OFF ON: Switch pressed
      OFF: Switch released
      -

      OK

      On the Techstream screen, ON or OFF is displayed accordingly.

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE METER MIRROR SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to REMOVAL [09/2015 - ] )

    Result: 

    NG 

    See step  2

  2. INSPECT COMBINATION SWITCH ASSEMBLY (HEADUP DISPLAY SWITCH) 
    1. Remove the combination switch assembly (headup display switch). Refer to REMOVAL [09/2015 - ] ).
    2. Inspect the combination switch assembly (headup display switch). Refer to INSPECTION [09/2015 - ] ).

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE COMBINATION SWITCH ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to REMOVAL [09/2015 - ] )

    Result: 

    OK

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (METER MIRROR ASSEMBLY - COMBINATION SWITCH ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disconnect the E147 meter mirror assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the E125 combination switch assembly connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      E147-9 (SW1) - E125-5 (ILU) Always Below 1 Ω
      E147-16 (E) - E125-15 (CH) Always Below 1 Ω
      E147-9 (SW1) or E125-5 (ILU) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      E147-16 (E) or E125-15 (CH) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE METER MIRROR SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to REMOVAL [09/2015 - ] )

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
