Removal [09/2015 - ]: Procedure
- REMOVE COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER RH
Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1
- PRECAUTION NOTE:
After turning the engine switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal notice before proceeding with work (Refer to PRECAUTION [09/2015 - ] ).
- DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL NOTE:
When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected (Refer to INITIALIZATION [09/2015 - ] ).
- DRAIN AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION FLUID

- REMOVE EXHAUST MANIFOLD
(Refer to REMOVAL [09/2015 - ] )
- REMOVE STARTER ASSEMBLY
(Refer to REMOVAL [09/2015 - ] )
- DISCONNECT FLOOR SHIFT GEAR SHIFTING ROD SUB-ASSEMBLY
- Remove the nut and disconnect the floor shift gear shifting rod sub-assembly.
- REMOVE TRANSMISSION CONTROL SHAFT LEVER RH
- Remove the nut and transmission control shaft lever RH together with the floor shift gear shifting rod sub-assembly.
- DISCONNECT OIL COOLER TUBE INLET AND OUTLET
- SUPPORT AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION ASSEMBLY
- Support the automatic transmission assembly with a transmission jack.NOTE:
- In order to protect the oil pan, place attachments onto the transmission jack.
- Make sure that the attachments and the oil pan are centered on the transmission jack.
- Support the automatic transmission assembly with a transmission jack.
- REMOVE ENGINE REAR MOUNTING MEMBER
- DISCONNECT WIRE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR
- Remove the bolt and disconnect the ground wire.
- Tilt the automatic transmission assembly downward.NOTE:
Take care so that the rear side of the engine assembly does not come into contact with the body.
- Disconnect the park/neutral position switch connector.
- Disconnect the transmission wire connector.
HINT:
Detach the claw, press down the lever, and then disconnect the transmission wire connector.
- Detach the 5 harness clamps from the automatic transmission assembly.
- Remove the bolt and disconnect the ground wire.
- REMOVE DRIVE PLATE AND TORQUE CONVERTER SETTING BOLT
- REMOVE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION ASSEMBLY
- REMOVE ENGINE REAR MOUNTING INSULATOR
- Remove the 4 bolts and engine rear mounting insulator.
- REMOVE TORQUE CONVERTER ASSEMBLY
- Remove the torque converter assembly from the automatic transmission assembly.NOTE:
Remove the torque converter assembly from the input shaft horizontally.
- Remove the torque converter assembly from the automatic transmission assembly.
