Inspection [09/2020 - ]: Procedure

  1. INSPECT COMBINATION SWITCH ASSEMBLY 
    1. Inspect the Eco mode switch:
      1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

        *a Component without harness connected
        (Combination Switch Assembly)

        Standard Resistance

        Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
        11 (ECO) - 16 (E) Combination switch assembly knob turned and held at Eco position Below 50 Ω
        Combination switch assembly knob not turned to Eco position 1 MΩ or higher

        If the result is not as specified, replace the combination switch assembly.

    2. Inspect the Normal or Normal/Custom mode switch:
      1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

        Standard Resistance

        Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
        9 (NORM) - 16 (E) Combination switch assembly knob pushed and held Below 50 Ω
        Combination switch assembly knob not pushed 1 MΩ or higher

        If the result is not as specified, replace the combination switch assembly.

    3. Inspect the Sport or Sport S/S+ mode switch:
      1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

        Standard Resistance

        Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
        10 (PWR) - 16 (E) Combination switch assembly knob turned and held at Sport or Sport S/S+ position Below 50 Ω
        Combination switch assembly knob not turned to Sport or Sport S/S+ position 1 MΩ or higher

        If the result is not as specified, replace the combination switch assembly.

    4. Inspect the SNOW mode switch:
      1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

        Standard Resistance

        Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
        3 (SNSW) - 16 (E) SNOW mode switch pushed and held Below 50 Ω
        SNOW mode switch not pushed 1 MΩ or higher

        If the result is not as specified, replace the combination switch assembly.

    5. Inspect the VSC OFF switch:
      1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

        *a Component without harness connected

        Standard Resistance

        Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
        1 (+) - 16 (E) VSC OFF switch pushed and held Below 50 Ω
        VSC OFF switch not pushed 1 MΩ or higher

        If the result is not as specified, replace the combination switch assembly.

    6. Inspect the BRAKE HOLD switch:
      1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

        *a Component without harness connected

        Standard Resistance

        Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
        14 (+B) - 16 (E) BRAKE HOLD switch pushed and held Below 50 Ω
        BRAKE HOLD switch not pushed 1 MΩ or higher

        If the result is not as specified, replace the combination switch assembly.

    7. Check the illumination:
      1. Apply battery voltage between the terminals of the switch, and check the illumination condition of the combination switch assembly.

        Standard

        Measurement Condition Specified Condition
        Battery positive (+) → 5 (ILL+)
        Battery negative (-) → 8 (ILL-)
        Illuminates

        If the result is not as specified, replace the combination switch assembly.
