Replacement [04/2013 - ]: Procedure

  1. REMOVE PROPELLER WITH CENTER BEARING SHAFT ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to REMOVAL [04/2013 - ]

  2. REMOVE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION FLANGE YOKE ASSEMBLY 
    1. Using SST and a hammer, loosen the staked part of the lock nut.
      • SST: 09930-00010 
      NOTE:
      • Be sure to use SST with the tapered surface facing the shaft.
      • Do not grind the tip of SST with a grinder or other device.
      • Completely loosen the staked part of the lock nut when removing it
      • Do not damage the threads of the shaft.

    2. Attach SST.
      • SST: 09330-00021 
      • SST: 09950-30012

    3. Using SST and a 30 mm deep socket wrench, remove the lock nut.

      *a Hold
      *b Turn
    4. Remove SST.
    5. Tap the automatic transmission flange yoke assembly with a plastic-faced hammer to remove it.
    6. Using a screwdriver, pry out the oil seal from the automatic transmission flange yoke assembly.

      *1 Oil Seal
      NOTE:

      Do not damage the automatic transmission flange yoke assembly.

  3. REMOVE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION REAR OIL SEAL 
    1. Using SST, tap out the automatic transmission rear oil seal.

      • SST: 09308-00010 
  4. INSTALL AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION REAR OIL SEAL 
    1. Coat the lip of a new automatic transmission rear oil seal with MP grease.
    2. Using SST and a hammer, tap in the automatic transmission rear oil seal.

      *a Oil Seal Depth
      • SST: 09214-76011 

      Oil seal depth from flat end

      3.3 to 3.7 mm (0.130 to 0.145 in.)

  5. INSTALL AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION FLANGE YOKE ASSEMBLY 
    1. Coat the lip of a new oil seal with MP grease.
    2. Using SST and a hammer, tap in the oil seal.
      • SST: 09517-36010

      0 to 0.3 mm (0 to 0.0118 in.)

    3. Install the automatic transmission flange yoke assembly.
    4. Set SST.
      • SST: 09330-00021 
      • SST: 09950-30012 
        1. 09955-03040

      *a Hold
      *b Turn
    5. Using SST and a 30 mm deep socket wrench, install and tighten a new lock nut.

      Torque: 135 N*m (1377 kgf*cm, 100 ft.*lbf) 

    6. Using a chisel and hammer, securely stake the nut.
  6. INSTALL PROPELLER WITH CENTER BEARING SHAFT ASSEMBLY
