Removal [10/2017 - ]: Procedure

  1. REMOVE V-BANK COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3 [10/2017 - 09/2020] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3 [09/2020 - ]

  2. REMOVE AIR CLEANER CAP WITH AIR CLEANER HOSE 

    See step  4 [10/2017 - 09/2020], or see step  4 [09/2020 - ]

  3. REMOVE VVT SENSOR (for Intake Side of Bank 1) 
    1. Disconnect the VVT sensor connector.

    2. Remove the bolt and VVT sensor from the cylinder head cover sub-assembly.
  4. REMOVE VVT SENSOR (for Exhaust Side of Bank 1) 
    1. Disconnect the VVT sensor connector.

    2. Remove the bolt and VVT sensor from the cylinder head cover sub-assembly.
  5. DISCONNECT ENGINE WIRE 
    1. Disengage the clamp.

    2. Disconnect the 2 camshaft timing oil control solenoid assembly connectors and water inlet with thermostat sub-assembly connector.
    3. Remove the bolt to disconnect the engine wire from the timing chain cover assembly.
    4. Disengage the 3 clamps.

    5. Remove the 2 nuts to disconnect the engine wire from the cylinder head cover sub-assembly LH.
    6. Disconnect the 2 VVT sensor connectors and 2 ignition coil assembly connectors.
  6. REMOVE VVT SENSOR (for Intake Side of Bank 2) 
    1. Remove the bolt and VVT sensor from the cylinder head cover sub-assembly LH.

  7. REMOVE VVT SENSOR (for Exhaust Side of Bank 2) 
    1. Remove the bolt and VVT sensor from the cylinder head cover sub-assembly LH.
