Removal [10/2017 - ]: Procedure

- REMOVE ENGINE UNDER COVER
Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 10 [10/2017 - 09/2020] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 10 [09/2020 - ]
- REMOVE CAMSHAFT TIMING OIL CONTROL SOLENOID ASSEMBLY
Refer to REMOVAL [10/2017 - ]
- SET NO. 1 CYLINDER TO TDC/COMPRESSION
- Turn the crankshaft clockwise to align the timing mark (cutout) on the crankshaft pulley with the "0" timing mark on the timing chain cover assembly.
*a "0" Timing Mark *b Timing Mark (Cutout) - Check that the ends of the spring inside of the camshaft timing exhaust gear assembly are as shown in the illustration.
*a Spring End HINT:
If the ends of the spring are not as shown in the illustration, rotate the crankshaft clockwise 360° and align the timing marks again.
- Turn the crankshaft clockwise to align the timing mark (cutout) on the crankshaft pulley with the "0" timing mark on the timing chain cover assembly.
- REMOVE CAMSHAFT TIMING GEAR BOLT
