DTC P0195-15: Engine Oil Temperature Sensor Circuit Short to Battery or Open [08/2015 - 09/2022]: Procedure

Disconnect the engine oil temperature sensor connector.
Connect terminals 1 and 2 of the engine oil temperature sensor connector on the wire harness side.
Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
Turn the engine switch on (IG).
Turn the Techstream on.

Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine / Data List / Engine Oil Temperature Sensor.

Powertrain > Engine > Data List

Tester Display
Engine Oil Temperature Sensor

Read the value displayed on the Techstream.

Standard Value

164°C (327°F) or higher

Result

NG

Result:

REPLACE ENGINE OIL TEMPERATURE SENSOR. Refer to REMOVAL [08/2015 - 10/2016] , or refer to REMOVAL [10/2016 - ]

CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (ENGINE OIL TEMPERATURE SENSOR - ECM)

Disconnect the engine oil temperature sensor connector.
Disconnect the ECM connector.

Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance

Tester Connection	Condition	Specified Condition
I3-2 - F78-97 (THEO)	Always	Below 1 Ω
I3-1 - F78-96 (ETHE)	Always	Below 1 Ω
I3-2 or F78-97 (THEO) - Other terminals	Always	10 kΩ or higher
