Removal [04/2013 - 10/2017]: Procedure

  1. PRECAUTION 
    NOTE:

    After turning the engine switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal notices before proceeding with work.

    Refer to PRECAUTION [04/2013 - 08/2015] , or refer to PRECAUTION [08/2015 - 10/2016] , or refer to PRECAUTION [10/2016 - 10/2017]

  2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
    NOTE:

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.

    Refer to INITIALIZATION [04/2013 - 06/2014] , or refer to INITIALIZATION [06/2014 - 08/2015] , or refer to INITIALIZATION [08/2015 - 10/2016] , or refer to INITIALIZATION [10/2016 - 10/2017]

  3. REMOVE ENGINE ROOM ECU COVER 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2

  4. REMOVE TCM 
    1. Disconnect the 2 engine wire connectors from the connector holder.

    2. Disengage the claw and disconnect the junction connector from the connector holder.
    3. Using a screwdriver, disengage the claw.

      *1 Connector Holder
      *a Grommet
    4. Disconnect the grommet and connector holder from the engine room ECM box.
    5. Disconnect the 2 ECM connectors.

    6. Disconnect the 2 TCM connectors.

    7. Remove the 2 nuts and TCM from the engine room ECM box.

      NOTE:

      If a TCM has been struck or dropped, replace it.

    8. Remove the 4 screws and 2 brackets from the TCM.
