Removal [10/2017 - ]: Procedure

  1. DISCHARGE FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE 

    Refer to PRECAUTION [10/2017 - 09/2020] , or refer to PRECAUTION [09/2020 - ]

  2. PRECAUTION 
    NOTE:

    After turning the engine switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal notices before proceeding with work.

  3. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
    NOTE:

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.

    Refer to INITIALIZATION [10/2017 - 09/2020] , or refer to INITIALIZATION [09/2020 - 11/2021] , or refer to INITIALIZATION [11/2021 - 09/2022] , or refer to INITIALIZATION [09/2022 - 10/2023] , or refer to INITIALIZATION [10/2023 - ]

  4. REMOVE THROTTLE BODY WITH MOTOR ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to REMOVAL [10/2017 - 09/2020] , or refer to REMOVAL [09/2020 - ]

  5. REMOVE COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to REMOVAL [04/2013 - 09/2020] , or refer to REMOVAL [09/2020 - ]

  6. DISCONNECT VACUUM HOSE ASSEMBLY 
    1. Slide the clip and disconnect the vacuum hose assembly from the No. 1 hose to hose tube.

    2. Slide the clip and disconnect the union to check valve hose from the vacuum pump assembly.

  7. REMOVE INTAKE AIR SURGE TANK ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disconnect the purge valve (purge VSV) connector.

    2. Disconnect the No. 1 fuel vapor feed hose from the intake air surge tank assembly.
    3. Remove the bolt and disconnect the purge valve (purge VSV) from the intake air surge tank assembly.
    4. Slide the clip and disconnect the ventilation hose assembly from the intake air surge tank assembly.

    5. Disengage the 2 clamps to disconnect the No. 2 water by-pass hose from the intake air surge tank assembly.
    6. Disconnect the 6 wire harness clamps from the intake air surge tank assembly.

    7. Disengage the clamp to disconnect the No. 2 fuel tube sub-assembly.

    8. Remove the bolt and disconnect the No. 2 water by-pass pipe from the intake air surge tank assembly.

    9. Remove the bolt and disconnect the No. 2 surge tank stay from the intake air surge tank assembly.

    10. Remove the 2 nuts.

      Stud Bolt
    11. Using an E8 "TORX" socket wrench, remove the 2 stud bolts from the intake manifold.
    12. Remove the 5 bolts and intake air surge tank assembly.
    13. Remove the air surge tank to intake manifold gasket from the intake air surge tank assembly.
    14. Remove the 2 bolts and No. 1 hose to hose tube from the intake air surge tank assembly.

  8. REMOVE NO. 2 FUEL TUBE SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 5

  9. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 6

  10. REMOVE NO. 1 FUEL TUBE SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 7

  11. DISCONNECT WIRE HARNESS 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 8

  12. REMOVE FUEL DELIVERY PIPE WITH SENSOR ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 9

  13. REMOVE INTAKE MANIFOLD 
    1. Remove the 4 bolts, 4 nuts and intake manifold from the cylinder head sub-assembly.

    2. Remove the 2 No. 1 intake manifold to head gaskets from each cylinder head sub-assembly.
