  1. CLEAR DTC 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Clear the DTC.

      Powertrain > Engine > Clear DTCs 

    5. Turn the engine switch off and wait for at least 30 seconds.

      Result

      Proceed to

  2. CHECK WHETHER DTC OUTPUT RECURS (DTC P0351-13, P0352-13, P0353-13, P0354-13, P0355-13 OR P0356-13) 
    1. Shuffle the arrangement of the ignition coil assemblies (among No. 1 to No. 6 cylinders).
      NOTE:

      Do not change the location of the connectors.

    2. Drive the vehicle in accordance with the driving pattern described in Confirmation Driving Pattern.
    3. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine / Trouble Codes.
    4. Read the DTCs.

      Powertrain > Engine > Trouble Codes 

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      Same DTC output A
      Different ignition coil DTC output B

      HINT: 

      Perform "Inspection After Repair" after replacing the ignition coil assembly.

      Refer to INITIALIZATION [10/2017 - 09/2018] , or refer to INITIALIZATION [09/2018 - 09/2020] , or refer to INITIALIZATION [09/2020 - ]

    Result:

  3. CHECK TERMINAL VOLTAGE (POWER SOURCE OF IGNITION COIL ASSEMBLY)

    (to Ignition Coil Assembly)
    1. Disconnect the ignition coil assembly connector.
    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).
    3. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      F110-1 (+B) - Body ground Engine switch on (IG) 11 to 14 V
      F103-1 (+B) - Body ground Engine switch on (IG) 11 to 14 V
      F111-1 (+B) - Body ground Engine switch on (IG) 11 to 14 V
      F104-1 (+B) - Body ground Engine switch on (IG) 11 to 14 V
      F112-1 (+B) - Body ground Engine switch on (IG) 11 to 14 V
      F105-1 (+B) - Body ground Engine switch on (IG) 11 to 14 V

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (IGNITION COIL ASSEMBLY - BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the ignition coil assembly connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      F110-4 (GND) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      F103-4 (GND) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      F111-4 (GND) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      F104-4 (GND) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      F112-4 (GND) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      F105-4 (GND) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

      Result

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (IGNITION COIL ASSEMBLY - ECM) 
    1. Disconnect the ignition coil assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the ECM connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      F110-2 (IGF1) - F102-112 (IGF1) Always Below 1 Ω
      F103-2 (IGF2) - F102-80 (IGF2) Always Below 1 Ω
      F111-2 (IGF1) - F102-112 (IGF1) Always Below 1 Ω
      F104-2 (IGF2) - F102-80 (IGF2) Always Below 1 Ω
      F112-2 (IGF1) - F102-112 (IGF1) Always Below 1 Ω

  6. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SEMICONDUCTOR POWER INTEGRATION ECU - IGNITION COIL ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect the semiconductor power integration ECU connector.
    2. Disconnect the ignition coil assembly connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      2G-4 - F110-1 (+B) Always Below 1 Ω
      2G-4 - F103-1 (+B) Always Below 1 Ω
      2G-4 - F111-1 (+B) Always Below 1 Ω
      2G-4 - F104-1 (+B) Always Below 1 Ω
      2G-4 - F112-1 (+B) Always Below 1 Ω
      2G-4 - F105-1 (+B) Always Below 1 Ω
      2G-4 or F110-1 (+B) - Body ground and other terminals Always 10 kΩ or higher
      2G-4 or F103-1 (+B) - Body ground and other terminals Always 10 kΩ or higher
      2G-4 or F111-1 (+B) - Body ground and other terminals Always 10 kΩ or higher
