Caution / Notice / Hint

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 14 other vehicles, including the 2024 Lexus IS 350, 2024 Lexus IS 300, 2023 Lexus IS 350, 2023 Lexus IS 300, and 2022 Lexus IS 350. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
NOTE:
  • Perform the universal trip to clear permanent DTCs.

    Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [10/2017 - ]

  • Perform registration and/or initialization when parts related to the automatic transmission are replaced.

    Refer to PRECAUTION [10/2017 - 09/2020]

  • If DTCs P0710-00, P2610-29 and/or P2610-93 are output simultaneously, confirm that the ATF temperature is as specified in "Normal Condition" using the Techstream first. When the ATF temperature is as specified in "Normal Condition", perform troubleshooting for DTC P2610-29.

Refer to DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART [10/2017 - 09/2018]

  1. DATA LIST
    NOTE:

In the table below, the values listed under "Normal Condition" are reference values. Do not depend solely on these reference values when deciding whether a part is faulty or not.

    HINT:

Using the Techstream to read the Data List allows the values or states of switches, sensors, actuators and other items to be read without removing any parts. This non-intrusive inspection can be very useful because intermittent conditions or signals may be discovered before parts or wiring is disturbed. Reading the Data List information early in troubleshooting is one way to save diagnostic time.

    1. Warm up the engine.
    2. Turn the engine switch off.
    3. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    4. Turn the engine switch on (IG).
    5. Turn the Techstream on.
    6. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Transmission / Data List.
    7. According to the display on the Techstream, read the "Data List".

Powertrain > Transmission > Data List

Tester Display Measurement Item Range Normal Condition Diagnostic Note
A/T Oil Temperature No. 1 ATF temperature sensor value Min.: -40°C (-40°F)
      Max.: 150°C (302°F)
      • Approximately 80°C (176°F): After stall test
      • Equal to ambient temperature when cold soak
If the value is -40°C (-40°F) or 150°C (302°F), the ATF temperature sensor circuit is open or shorted.

Powertrain > Transmission > Data List

      Tester Display
      A/T Oil Temperature No. 1

      HINT:

      • When DTC P0710-11 is output and the Techstream shows 150°C (302°F) or higher, there is a short circuit.
      • When DTC P0710-15 is output and the Techstream shows -40°C (-40°F), there is an open circuit.

Check the temperature displayed on the Techstream in order to check if a malfunction exists.

        Temperature Displayed Malfunction
        -40°C (-40°F) Open circuit
150°C (302°F) or higher Short circuit
      • If a circuit related to the ATF temperature sensor becomes open, P0710-15 will be stored in approximately 0.5 seconds. It is not necessary to inspect the circuit when P0710-00 is output.
