Removal [10/2017 - ]: Procedure

  1. PRECAUTION 
    NOTE:

    After turning the engine switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal notices before proceeding with work.

  2. DISCHARGE FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE 

    Refer to PRECAUTION [10/2017 - 09/2020] , or refer to PRECAUTION [09/2020 - ]

  3. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
    NOTE:

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.

    Refer to INITIALIZATION [10/2017 - 09/2020] , or refer to INITIALIZATION [09/2020 - 11/2021] , or refer to INITIALIZATION [11/2021 - 09/2022] , or refer to INITIALIZATION [09/2022 - 10/2023] , or refer to INITIALIZATION [10/2023 - ]

  4. REMOVE INTAKE MANIFOLD 

    Refer to REMOVAL [10/2017 - ]

  5. SEPARATE NO. 2 WATER BY-PASS PIPE 
    1. Remove the bolt and separate the No. 2 water by-pass pipe from the vacuum pump.

  6. DISCONNECT FUEL TUBE SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disengage the clamp.

    2. Disconnect the fuel tube sub-assembly from the fuel main tube connector.

      Refer to PRECAUTION [10/2017 - 09/2020] , or refer to PRECAUTION [09/2020 - ]

  7. REMOVE FUEL MAIN TUBE CONNECTOR 
    1. Remove the fuel main tube connector from the fuel pump assembly.

      Refer to PRECAUTION [10/2017 - 09/2020] , or refer to PRECAUTION [09/2020 - ]

  8. REMOVE NO. 1 FUEL PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Using a 17 mm union nut wrench, loosen the 2 union nuts of the No. 1 fuel pipe sub-assembly.

    2. Remove the No. 1 fuel pipe sub-assembly from the fuel delivery pipe RH and fuel pump assembly.
  9. REMOVE FUEL (ENGINE ROOM SIDE) PUMP ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disconnect the fuel pump assembly connector.

    2. Remove the 2 bolts, fuel pump assembly and fuel pump lifter guide from the cylinder head cover sub-assembly.

    3. Remove the O-ring from the fuel pump assembly.

      *1 O-ring
    4. Remove the fuel pump lifter assembly from the fuel pump lifter housing.
    5. Remove the fuel pump spacer gasket from the cylinder head cover sub-assembly.
