DTC P0795-7F: Pressure Control Solenoid "C" Actuator Stuck Off [10/2017 - 09/2019]: Description

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 7 other vehicles, including the 2024 Lexus IS 350, 2023 Lexus IS 350, 2022 Lexus IS 350, 2021 Lexus IS 350, and 2020 Lexus IS 350. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

Based on signals from the transmission revolution sensors (NT, SP2 and NC3), the actual gear is detected.

If the detected gear is different than the commanded gear, the ECM detects related mechanical problems in the shift solenoid valves, transmission valve body assembly and automatic transmission assembly.

HINT:

ACTUAL GEAR WHEN A PROBLEM OCCURS IN SHIFT SOLENOID VALVE SL3:

ECM commanded gear 1st 2nd 3rd 4th 5th 6th 7th 8th

  1. Engine coolant temperature is 40°C (104°F) or higher.
  2. ATF temperature is -10°C (14°F) or higher.
  3. The vehicle is driven with the shift lever in D.
  4. No malfunctions are detected in the shift solenoid valve SL1, SL2, SL3, SL4, SL5 and SR, transmission revolution sensors (NT, NC3 and SP2), oil pressure switch, engine coolant temperature sensor, ATF temperature sensor, knock control sensor, electronic throttle and CAN communication system.
  5. Either of the following conditions is met:
    1. Any of the following conditions are met 2 times:
      1. When gear shifts to 1st are requested by the ECM, the actual gear changes to 3rd gear.
      2. When gear shifts to 2nd are requested by the ECM, the actual gear changes to 3rd gear.
      3. When gear shifts to 4th are requested by the ECM, the actual gear changes to 3rd gear.
      4. When gear shifts to 5th are requested by the ECM, the actual gear changes to 7th gear.
      5. When gear shifts to 6th are requested by the ECM, the actual gear changes to 7th gear.
      6. When gear shifts to 8th are requested by the ECM, the actual gear changes to 7th gear.
    2. When gear shifts to 3rd or 7th are requested by the ECM, the engine speed overruns (neutral status) for 0.5 seconds or more.
