Removal [11/2021 - ]: Procedure

  1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
    NOTE:

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.

    Refer to INITIALIZATION [11/2021 - 09/2022] , or refer to INITIALIZATION [09/2022 - 10/2023] , or refer to INITIALIZATION [10/2023 - ]

  2. REMOVE V-BANK COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2

  3. REMOVE POWER STEERING ECU ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to REMOVAL [09/2020 - ]

  4. REMOVE BATTERY TRAY 
    1. Remove the 2 bolts and battery tray.

  5. SEPARATE NO. 1 ENGINE ROOM RELAY BLOCK AND NO. 1 JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the 2 bolts and nut and separate the No. 1 engine room relay block and No. 1 junction block assembly.

    2. Disengage the wire harness clamp.

    3. Remove the bolt and wire harness clamp bracket.
  6. SEPARATE NO. 3 ENGINE ROOM RELAY BLOCK ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the bolt and nut and separate the No. 3 engine room relay block assembly.

    2. Remove the bolt and wire harness clamp bracket.

  7. REMOVE IGNITION COIL ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disconnect the 8 ignition coil assembly connectors.

    2. Remove the 8 bolts and 8 ignition coil assemblies from the cylinder head cover sub-assembly and cylinder head cover sub-assembly LH.
      NOTE:

      If an ignition coil assembly has been struck or dropped, replace it.

      HINT: 

      Arrange the removed parts in the correct order.

  8. REMOVE SPARK PLUG

    1. Remove the 8 spark plugs from the cylinder head sub-assembly and cylinder head LH.
      NOTE:

      If a spark plug has been struck or dropped, replace it.

      HINT: 

      Arrange the removed parts in the correct order.
