Pattern Select Switch Snow Mode Circuit [11/2021 - ]: Procedure

  1. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (SNOW SWITCH STATUS) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine / Data List / Snow Switch Status.

      Powertrain > Engine > Data List 

      Tester Display
      Snow Switch Status
    5. Read the value displayed on the Techstream.

      OK

      Condition Techstream Display (Snow Switch Status)
      SNOW mode switch pushed and held ON
      SNOW mode switch not pushed OFF

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    CHECK FOR INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS. Refer to  CHECK FOR INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS [11/2021 - ] 

    Result: 

    NG

  2. INSPECT COMBINATION SWITCH ASSEMBLY 
    1. Inspect the combination switch assembly (SNOW mode switch).

      Refer to INSPECTION [11/2021 - ]

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE COMBINATION SWITCH ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [11/2021 - ] 

    Result: 

    OK

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (COMBINATION SWITCH ASSEMBLY - ECM) 
    1. Disconnect the combination switch assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the ECM connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      K81-3 (SNSW) - A116-16 (SNWI) Always Below 1 Ω
      K81-3 (SNSW) or A116-16 (SNWI) - Body ground and other terminals Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    Result: 

    OK

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (COMBINATION SWITCH ASSEMBLY - BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the combination switch assembly connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      K81-16 (E) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE ECM. Refer to  REMOVAL [11/2021 - ] 

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
