- CHECK CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM
- Check if a CAN communication DTC is output.
Refer to DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM [08/2019 - 08/2020] , or refer to DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM [08/2020 - 08/2021] , or refer to DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM [08/2021 - ]
Result
Result Proceed to CAN communication DTC is not output A CAN communication DTC is output B
Result:
B
GO TO CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM. Refer to HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [08/2019 - ]
Result:
A
See step 2
- Check if a CAN communication DTC is output.
- PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM (FUEL METER OPERATION)
- Using the Techstream, perform the Active Test.
Refer to DATA LIST / ACTIVE TEST [08/2019 - ]
BODY ELECTRICAL > COMBINATION METER > ACTIVE TESTTester Display Measurement Item Control Range Diagnostic Note Fuel Meter Operation Fuel receiver gauge OFF, Sender E, Empty, Warning, 1/4, 1/2, 3/4, Full, Sender F See [Display] - [Display]: Fuel receiver gauge

See step 3
- Using the Techstream, perform the Active Test.
- READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (FUEL INPUT)
- Use the Data List to check if the fuel receiver gauge is operating properly.
Refer to DATA LIST / ACTIVE TEST [08/2019 - ]
BODY ELECTRICAL > COMBINATION METER > DATA LISTTester Display Measurement Item / Range Normal Condition Diagnostic Note Fuel Input Fuel input signal / Min.: 0, Max. 127.5 L - Fuel receiver gauge indicates F: 78.3
- Fuel receiver gauge indicates 3/4: 62.2
- Fuel receiver gauge indicates 1/2: 46.1
- Fuel receiver gauge indicates 1/4: 27.4
- Fuel receiver gauge indicates E: 8.7
Unit: Liters OK
Fuel level signal displayed on the Techstream is almost the same as the fuel receiver gauge indication.
Result
Proceed to OK NG
Result:
OK
REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY. Refer to REMOVAL [08/2019 - ]
Result:

See step 4
- Use the Data List to check if the fuel receiver gauge is operating properly.
- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY - FUEL SUCTION PLATE SUB-ASSEMBLY AND BODY GROUND)
- Disconnect the G3 combination meter assembly connector.
- Disconnect the S4 fuel suction plate sub-assembly connector.
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance
Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition G3-26 (L) - S4-2 (FS) Always Below 1 Ω G3-2 (E3) - S4-3 (FE) Always Below 1 Ω G3-20 (MGND) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω G3-26 (L) or S4-2 (FS) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher Result
Proceed to OK NG
Result:
