DTC B1507: Open in Turn Signal Circuit; DTC B1508: Short in Turn Signal / Hazard Flasher Circuit [10/2015 - ]: Procedure

  1. INSPECT LIGHTS 
    1. Inspect the illumination of each turn signal light.

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      All RH turn signal lights or all LH turn signal lights do not blink. A
      RH side turn signal light does not illuminate. B
      LH side turn signal light does not illuminate. C

    Result:

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY - COWL SIDE JUNCTION BLOCK LH OR BODY GROUND) 
    1. RH side
      1. Disconnect the K32 combination meter assembly connector.
      2. Disconnect the 5B cowl side junction block LH connector.
      3. Measure the resistance according to the value (s) in the table below.

        Standard Resistance (Check for Open)

        Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
        K32-7 (LR) - 5B-3 Always Below 1 Ω

        Standard Resistance (Check for Short)

        Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
        K32-7 (LR) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
    2. LH side
      1. Disconnect the K32 combination meter assembly connector.
      2. Disconnect the 5B cowl side junction block LH connector.
      3. Measure the resistance according to the value (s) in the table below.

        Standard Resistance (Check for Open)

        Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
        K32-13 (LL) - 5B-4 Always Below 1 Ω

        Standard Resistance (Check for Short)

        Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
        K32-13 (LL) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [10/2015 - 09/2017]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [09/2017 - ] 

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

  3. CHECK TURN SIGNAL LIGHTS (RH SIDE) 
    1. Turn the engine switch on (IG).
    2. Set the headlight dimmer switch assembly to the right turn switch position.
    3. Check the operation of the turn signal lights (RH side).

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      Front turn signal light assembly (RH side) does not blink. A
      Side turn signal light assembly (RH side) does not blink. B
      Rear turn signal light assembly (RH side) does not blink. C

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY RH - COWL SIDE JUNCTION BLOCK LH OR BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the A30 headlight assembly RH connector.
    2. Disconnect the 5D cowl side junction block LH connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value (s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance (Check for Open)

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A30-11 (TNS) - 5D-8 Always Below 1 Ω
      A30-12 (GND) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

      Standard Resistance (Check for Short)

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A30-11 (TNS) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

  5. INSPECT COWL SIDE JUNCTION BLOCK LH 
    1. Remove the cowl side junction block LH.

      Refer to REMOVAL [10/2015 - 09/2017] , or refer to REMOVAL [09/2017 - ]

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value (s) in the table below.

      (Cowl Side Junction Block LH)      		 - -

      Standard Resistance

  6. INSPECT HEADLIGHT ECU SUB-ASSEMBLY RH 
    1. Remove the headlight ECU sub-assembly RH.

      Refer to REMOVAL [10/2015 - 09/2017] , or refer to REMOVAL [09/2017 - ]

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value (s) in the table below.

      Headlight ECU Sub-assembly RH)

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A30-11 (TNS) - B-10 (TURN+) Always Below 1 Ω
      A30-12 (GND) - B-13 (TURN-) Always Below 1 Ω
      A30-11 (TNS) - A30-12 (GND) Always 10 kΩ or higher

    REPLACE HEADLIGHT ECU SUB-ASSEMBLY RH. Refer to  REMOVAL [10/2015 - 09/2017]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [09/2017 - ] 

  7. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (FRONT MULTIPLEX NETWORK DOOR ECU RH - COWL SIDE JUNCTION BLOCK LH OR BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the N24 front multiplex network door ECU RH connector.
    2. Disconnect the 5A cowl side junction block LH connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value (s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance (Check for Open)

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      N24-20 (TRNI) - 5A-12 Always Below 1 Ω
      N24-1 (GND) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

      Standard Resistance (Check for Short)

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      5A-12 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to

    1. Disconnect the z11 front multiplex network door ECU RH connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value (s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance (Check for Open)

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      z11-12 (-) - z11-16 (B) Always Below 1 Ω

      Standard Resistance (Check for Short)

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      z11-16 (B) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      z11-12 (-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    REPLACE COWL SIDE JUNCTION BLOCK LH. Refer to  REMOVAL [10/2015 - 09/2017]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [09/2017 - ] 

  10. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (REAR COMBINATION LIGHT ASSEMBLY RH - COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY OR BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the U36 rear combination light assembly RH connector.
    2. Disconnect the K32 combination meter assembly connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value (s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance (Check for Open)

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      U36-2 (TRN) - K32-1 (TRNR) Always Below 1 Ω
      U36-4 (E) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

      Standard Resistance (Check for Short)

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      U36-2 (TRN) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

  11. CHECK TURN SIGNAL LIGHTS (LH SIDE) 
    1. Turn the engine switch on (IG).

    3. Check the operation of the turn signal lights (LH side).

      A29-12 (GND) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

      Standard Resistance (Check for Short)

    1. Disconnect the O4 front multiplex network door ECU LH connector.
    2. Disconnect the 5C cowl side junction block LH connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value (s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance (Check for Open)

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      O4-20 (TRNI) - 5C-24 Always Below 1 Ω
      O4-1 (GND) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

      Standard Resistance (Check for Short)

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      5C-24 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
