DTC B1500: Fuel Sender Open Detected [10/2015 - ]: Procedure

1. Operate the Techstream according to the display and select the Data List (Refer to DATA LIST / ACTIVE TEST [10/2015 - ] ).

REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY 

(Refer to REMOVAL [09/2014 - ] )

1. Disconnect the N40 combination meter assembly connector.
2. Disconnect the U60 fuel suction plate sub-assembly connector.
3. Disconnect the T16 fuel tank vent tube assembly connector.
4. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

   Standard Resistance

   Tester Connection	Condition	Specified Condition
   N40-27 (FR) - U60-2	Always	Below 1 Ω
   N40-28 (FE) - T16-3
   U60-3 - T16-2
   N40-31 (ES) - Body ground
   N40-27 (FR) - Body ground	Always	10 kΩ or higher
   N40-28 (FE) - Body ground
   U60-3 - Body ground

Result:  NG

REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

Result:  OK

1. Remove the fuel sender gauge assembly (Refer to REMOVAL [09/2014 - 09/2016] or REMOVAL [09/2016 - ] ).
2. Inspect the fuel sender gauge assembly (Refer to INSPECTION [09/2014 - ] ).

REPLACE FUEL SENDER GAUGE ASSEMBLY 

(Refer to REMOVAL [09/2014 - 09/2016] or REMOVAL [09/2016 - ] )

Result:  OK

1. Remove the fuel suction plate sub-assembly (Refer to REMOVAL [09/2014 - 09/2016] or REMOVAL [09/2016 - ] ).

2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

   Standard Resistance

   A-2 - B-2	Always	Below 1 Ω
   A-3 - B-1

REPLACE FUEL SUCTION PLATE SUB-ASSEMBLY

2. Inspect the No. 2 fuel sender gauge assembly (Refer to INSPECTION [09/2014 - ] ).

Result:  NG

REPLACE NO. 2 FUEL SENDER GAUGE ASSEMBLY
