Operating Light Control Rheostat does not Change Light Brightness [09/2014 - 10/2015]: Procedure

1. Use the Data List to check the rheostat switch (Refer to DATA LIST / ACTIVE TEST [09/2014 - 10/2015] ).

   The value displayed on the Techstream changes in accordance with the actual rheostat switch operation.

REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY 

(Refer to REMOVAL [09/2014 - ] )

Result: 

NG

1. Remove the trip switch (Refer to REMOVAL [09/2014 - ] ).
2. Inspect the trip switch (Refer to INSPECTION [09/2014 - ] ).

Result: 

NG 

REPLACE TRIP SWITCH 

(Refer to REMOVAL [09/2014 - ] )

Result: 

OK

1. Disconnect the N40 combination meter assembly connector.
2. Disconnect the N8 trip switch connector.
3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

   Standard Resistance

   Tester Connection	Condition	Specified Condition
   N40-24 (TR) - N8-3 (IG)	Always	Below 1 Ω
   N8-5 (E) - Body ground
   N40-24 (TR) - Body ground	Always	Below 1 Ω

Result: 

OK 

REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY
