Removal [09/2014 - 10/2015]: Procedure
- DISABLE AUTO TILT AWAY FUNCTION
- Disable the auto away/return function by changing the customize parameter (Refer to CUSTOMIZE PARAMETERS [09/2014 - ]
).WARNING:
Record the current customize parameter setting (whether the auto away/return function is enabled or disabled) in order to restore the current setting after finishing the operation.
HINT:
Performing the above operation causes the auto away/return function to be disabled when the engine switch is turned off.
- Turn the engine switch on (IG). Operate the tilt and telescopic switch to fully extend and lower the steering column assembly.
- Turn the engine switch off.
- Disable the auto away/return function by changing the customize parameter (Refer to CUSTOMIZE PARAMETERS [09/2014 - ]
).
- PRECAUTION NOTE:
After turning the engine switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal notice before proceeding with work (Refer to PRECAUTION [09/2014 - 10/2015] ).
- DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL WARNING:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.
NOTE:When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected (Refer to INITIALIZATION [09/2014 - 10/2015] ).

- REMOVE FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY RH

- REMOVE REAR SEAT ASSEMBLY

- REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH
- Place your hands on the inner portion of the front door scuff plate LH and detach the 2 claws labeled A, 6 claws labeled B and 2 claws labeled C in the order shown in the illustration.
- Raise the front door scuff plate LH to detach the 4 clips on the outer side and remove it.TEXT IN ILLUSTRATION

- REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE RH
HINT:
Use the same procedure described for the LH side.
- REMOVE FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM COVER LH
- Detach the 5 claws and remove the front door opening trim cover LH.
- REMOVE FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM COVER RH
HINT:
Use the same procedure described for the LH side.
- REMOVE FRONT PILLAR GARNISH LH
- Pull the upper part of the garnish toward the inside of the cabin and detach the 2 clips.
HINT:
Make the front pillar garnish LH hang down from the front pillar garnish clip.
TEXT IN ILLUSTRATION*1 Front Pillar Garnish Clip Turn the end of the front pillar garnish clip 90° with needle-nose pliers and remove it from the front pillar garnish LH.
HINT:
Tape the tips of the needle-nose pliers before use.
TEXT IN ILLUSTRATION*1 Front Pillar Garnish Clip *2 Protective Tape - Detach the guide and remove the front pillar garnish LH.
- Using your fingers, grasp the parts indicated by the arrows shown in the illustration and remove the front pillar garnish clip.NOTE:
If the front pillar garnish clip is damaged, replace it with a new one.
- When the front pillar garnish clip cannot be removed by using your fingers:
- While pressing the part indicated by the arrow shown in the illustration with your finger, lift the front pillar garnish clip in direction A.
- While pulling in direction B, push the part indicated by the arrow shown in the illustration with the end of a screwdriver to remove the front pillar garnish clip.NOTE:
If the front pillar garnish clip is damaged, replace it with a new one.
- While pressing the part indicated by the arrow shown in the illustration with your finger, lift the front pillar garnish clip in direction A.
Protect the curtain shield airbag assembly.
- Completely cover the airbag with a cloth or nylon sheet and secure the ends of the cover with adhesive tape as shown in the illustration.NOTE:
Cover the curtain shield airbag with a protective cover as soon as the front pillar garnish is removed.

- Completely cover the airbag with a cloth or nylon sheet and secure the ends of the cover with adhesive tape as shown in the illustration.
- Pull the upper part of the garnish toward the inside of the cabin and detach the 2 clips.

- REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL SAFETY PAD SUB-ASSEMBLY

- REMOVE REAR DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH
- Place your hands on the inner portion of the rear door scuff plate LH and detach the 2 claws labeled A, 6 claws labeled B and 2 claws labeled C in the order shown in the illustration.
- Raise the rear door scuff plate LH to detach the 4 clips on the outer side and remove it.TEXT IN ILLUSTRATION

- REMOVE REAR DOOR SCUFF PLATE RH
HINT:
Use the same procedure described for the LH side.
- REMOVE LOWER CENTER PILLAR GARNISH LH
- Pull both sides of the lower center pillar garnish LH outward to detach the 2 claws.
- Detach the 5 clips and 2 guides and remove the lower center pillar garnish LH.
- REMOVE LOWER CENTER PILLAR GARNISH RH
HINT:
Use the same procedure described for the LH side.
- REMOVE UPPER CENTER PILLAR GARNISH LH
- Remove the 2 screws.
- Detach the clip.
- Pass the front seat outer belt floor anchor through the center pillar garnish, and remove the center pillar garnish LH.

- REMOVE REAR SEAT SIDE GARNISH LH
- Detach the 4 claws and guide and remove the rear seat side garnish LH.

- Using a molding remover, detach the 2 claws A.
- Using a molding remover, detach the 2 clips A.
HINT:
When the 2 clips A are detached, claw B, guide B and the fastener may also become detached.
- Detach the 2 clips B.
- Move the hooks of the 2 guides A forward, disconnect the connector, and remove the front roof garnish together with the map light assembly.NOTE:
When removing and installing the front roof top garnish, do not apply force to the camera sensor located at (x).
HINT:
If the claw B, guide B, and fastener do not become detached when the 2 clips labeled A are detached, detach claw B, guide B and the fastener to remove the front roof top garnish together with the map light assembly.

- Using a molding remover, detach the 2 claws A.
- Using a molding remover, detach the 2 clips A.
HINT:
When the 2 clips A are detached, claw B and guide B may also become detached.
- Detach the 2 clips B.
- Move the hooks of the 2 guides A forward, disconnect the connector, and remove the front roof garnish together with the map light assembly.NOTE:
w/ Lane Keeping Assist System:
When removing and installing the front roof top garnish, do not apply force to the camera sensor located at (x).
HINT:
If the claw B and guide B do not become detached when the 2 clips labeled A are detached, detach claw B and guide B to remove the front roof top garnish together with the map light assembly.

- Turn the visor holder clockwise approximately 45° and pull it out as shown in the illustration.
- Detach the 2 claws and remove the visor holder.

- REMOVE ROOF HEADLINING ASSEMBLY
- Disconnect the connectors for the rain sensor, inner mirror, air conditioning thermistor, lane recognition camera sensor and night view camera.
w/ Sliding Roof:
- Disconnect the drive gear connector.
Disconnect the connector and detach the 3 clamps from the front pillar LH.
Disconnect the connector and detach the 3 clamps from the front pillar RH.
Disconnect the connector and detach the clamp from the rear pillar RH.
- w/ Sliding Roof:
- w/o Sliding Roof:
- Move the roof headlining as shown in the illustration and remove it from the right front door.NOTE:
- Make sure that the roof headlining does not get caught on anything as it may become bent or damaged.
- Do not damage the roof headlining or vehicle interior.
- REMOVE FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP LH
- Remove the front door opening trim weatherstrip LH.
HINT:
Remove any remaining sealer from the vehicle body.
- Remove the front door opening trim weatherstrip LH.
- REMOVE FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP RH
HINT:
Use the same procedure described for the LH side.
- REMOVE REAR DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP LH
- Remove the rear door opening trim weatherstrip LH.

Remove any remaining sealer from the vehicle body.
