Headup Display Switch Circuit [10/2015 - ]: Procedure

  1. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Head Up Display / Data List.
    5. Read the Data List according to the display on the Techstream.
      BODY ELECTRICAL > HEAD UP DISPLAY

      Tester Display Measurement Item Range Normal Condition Diagnostic Note
      Main Switch Headup display main switch OFF or ON OFF: Switch released
      ON: Switch pushed
      -
      Brightness Up Switch Brightness up switch OFF or ON OFF: Switch released
      ON: Switch pushed
      -
      Brightness Down Switch Brightness down switch OFF or ON OFF: Switch released
      ON: Switch pushed
      -
      Projection Position Up Switch Projection position up switch OFF or ON OFF: Switch released
      ON: Switch pushed
      -
      Projection Position Down Switch Projection position down switch OFF or ON OFF: Switch released
      ON: Switch pushed
      -
      Display Change Switch Display change switch OFF or ON OFF: Switch released
      ON: Switch pushed
       
      BODY ELECTRICAL > HEAD UP DISPLAY > DATA LIST

      Tester Display
      Main Switch
      Brightness Up Switch
      Brightness Down Switch
      Projection Position Up Switch
      Projection Position Down Switch
      Display Change Switch

      OK

      Headup display switch assembly condition displayed on the Techstream changes with the actual switch operation.

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE COMBINATION METER MIRROR ECU. Refer to  REMOVAL [09/2014 - ] 

    Result: 

    NG

  2. INSPECT HEAD UP DISPLAY SWITCH ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the headup display switch assembly.

      Refer to REMOVAL [09/2014 - ]

    2. Inspect the headup display switch assembly.

      Refer to INSPECTION [09/2014 - ]

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE HEADUP DISPLAY SWITCH ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [09/2014 - ] 

    Result: 

    OK 

    See step  3

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (COMBINATION METER MIRROR ECU - HEADUP DISPLAY SWITCH ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect the P1 combination meter mirror ECU connector.
    2. Disconnect the N7 headup display switch assembly connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      P1-9 (SW1) - N7-12 (ILU) Always Below 1 Ω
      P1-10 (SW2) - N7-10 (ILD) Always Below 1 Ω
      P1-16 (E) - N7-6 (CH) Always Below 1 Ω
      P1-9 (SW1) or N7-12 (ILU) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      P1-10 (SW2) or N7-10 (ILD) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      P1-16 (E) or N7-6 (CH) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE COMBINATION METER MIRROR ECU. Refer to  REMOVAL [09/2014 - ] 

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
