Removal [10/2015 - ]: Procedure

  1. REMOVE NO. 2 FORWARD RECOGNITION COVER 
    1. Detach the 2 claws and 2 guides and remove the No. 2 forward recognition cover as shown in the illustration.

      Remove in this Direction (1)
      Remove in this Direction (2)
      NOTE:

      If these claws are detached separately, they may break. Detach the claws simultaneously.

  2. REMOVE NO. 1 FORWARD RECOGNITION COVER 
    1. Detach the 2 clips and 2 guides and remove the No. 1 forward recognition cover as shown in the illustration.

      Remove in this Direction
      NOTE:

      Push the cover while keeping it parallel with the surface of the glass so as not to damage the clips and guides.

  3. REMOVE FORWARD RECOGNITION LATCH 
    1. w/o Camera Heater:

      Remove in this Direction (1)
      Remove in this Direction (2)
      1. Detach the 2 claws and 4 guides and remove the forward recognition latch as shown in the illustration.
    2. w/ Camera Heater:

      Remove in this Direction (2)
      1. Detach the 2 claws and 4 guides and remove the forward recognition latch as shown in the illustration.
  4. REMOVE FORWARD RECOGNITION CAMERA 
    1. w/o Camera Heater:

      Connector
      Remove in this Direction
      NOTE:
      • Do not pull the harness forcibly when disconnecting the connector.
      • If the forward recognition camera bracket is deformed or damaged, replace it together with the windshield glass.
      • If the forward recognition camera has been struck or dropped, replace it with a new one.
      • Do not apply excessive force.
      1. Disconnect the connector.
      2. Detach the 4 guides and remove the forward recognition camera as shown in the illustration.
    2. w/ Camera Heater:

      Remove in this Direction
      NOTE:
      • Do not pull the harness forcibly when disconnecting the connector.
      • If the forward recognition camera bracket is deformed or damaged, replace it together with the windshield glass.
      • If the forward recognition camera has been struck or dropped, replace it with a new one.
      • Do not apply excessive force.
      1. Disconnect the connector.
      2. Detach the 4 guides and remove the forward recognition camera as shown in the illustration.
  5. REMOVE FORWARD RECOGNITION WITH HEATER HOOD SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    NOTE:

    During work, do not touch the shaded area on the forward recognition with heater hood sub-assembly shown in the illustration.

    1. Disconnect the connector.

      NOTE:

      Do not pull the harness forcibly when disconnecting the connector.

    2. Detach the connector clamp.

    3. Detach the guide and remove the wire harness.

    4. Detach the claw in the direction indicated by the arrow (1) in the illustration.

      Remove in this Direction (1)
      Remove in this Direction (2)
      Heater Area
      NOTE:

      Do not press the heater area.

    5. Detach the guide in the direction indicated by the arrow (2) in the illustration to remove the forward recognition with heater hood sub-assembly.
