Tachometer Malfunction [08/2014 - ]: Procedure

1. Check if a CAN communication DTC is output (See article. Refer to DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM [08/2014 - 08/2015] Refer to DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM [08/2015 - ] ).

GO TO CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM

1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
2. Turn the power switch on (IG).
3. Turn the Techstream on.
4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Combination Meter / Active Test.
5. Check the operation by referring to the table below.

1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
2. Turn the power switch on (IG).
3. Turn the Techstream on.
4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Combination Meter / Data List.
5. Check the values by referring to the table below.

   Engine speed displayed on the Techstream is almost the same as the tachometer indication.

6. Record the engine speed displayed on the Techstream.

   HINT: 

   Check the engine speed when the engine is fully warmed up, and the air conditioning and all electrical accessories are off.

Result:  NG

REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY

1. Set the vehicle in the maintenance mode using the Techstream (See article. Refer to INSPECTION MODE PROCEDURE [08/2014 - ] ).
2. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
3. Turn the power switch on (IG).
4. Turn the Techstream on.
5. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Hybrid Control / Data List.
6. Check the values by referring to the table below.
   HYBRID CONTROL

GO TO HYBRID CONTROL SYSTEM
