Luggage Compartment Door Closer does not Operate [09/2015 - ]: Procedure

  1. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM 
    1. Check the Data List for proper functioning of the luggage compartment door closer.
      BODY NO. 4 (REAR JUNCTION BLOCK ECU)

  2. INSPECT LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR KEY CYLINDER

    1. Remove the luggage compartment door key cylinder (Refer to REMOVAL [09/2015 - ] ).
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      1 - 2 Not turned 10 kΩ or higher
      1 - 2 Open position Below 1 Ω

    Result:  NG

    NG 

    REPLACE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR KEY CYLINDER 

    (Refer to REMOVAL [09/2015 - ] )

    Result:  OK

    OK

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (REAR JUNCTION BLOCK ECU - LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR KEY CYLINDER AND BODY GROUND)

    1. Disconnect the S74 cylinder connector.
    2. Disconnect the S63 ECU connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      S74-1 - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      S74-2 - S63-10 (TKUL) Always Below 1 Ω
      S74-2 or S63-10 (TKUL) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    Result:  OK

    OK 

    REPLACE LUGGAGE ROOM JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY (REAR JUNCTION BLOCK ECU) 

    Result:  NG

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

  4. INSPECT LUGGAGE ELECTRICAL KEY SWITCH

    1. Remove the luggage electrical key switch (Refer to REMOVAL [09/2015 - ] ).
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      5 (UL) - 10 (E) Luggage electrical key switch OFF 10 kΩ or higher
      5 (UL) - 10 (E) Luggage electrical key switch ON Below 1 Ω

    Result:  NG

    NG 

    REPLACE LUGGAGE ELECTRICAL KEY SWITCH 

    (Refer to REMOVAL [09/2015 - ] )

    Result:  OK

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (REAR JUNCTION BLOCK ECU - LUGGAGE ELECTRICAL KEY SWITCH AND BODY GROUND)

    1. Disconnect the S63 ECU connector.
    2. Disconnect the S73 switch connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      S73-10 (E) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      S73-5 (UL) - S63-6 (LPSW) Always Below 1 Ω
      S73-5 (UL) or S63-6 (LPSW) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    Result:  OK

    OK 

    REPLACE LUGGAGE ROOM JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY (REAR JUNCTION BLOCK ECU) 

    Result:  NG

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

  6. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (REAR JUNCTION BLOCK ECU - LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR CLOSER AND BODY GROUND)

    1. Disconnect the S36 closer connector.
    2. Disconnect the S63 ECU connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      S36-2 (OPN) - S63-3 (LOPN) Always Below 1 Ω
      S36-5 (CLS) - S63-2 (LCLS) Always Below 1 Ω
      S36-6 (+B) - S63-16 (BDCY) Always Below 1 Ω
      S36-7 (CTY) - S63-9 (LCTY) Always Below 1 Ω
      S36-8 (E) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      S36-2 (OPN) or S63-3 (LOPN)- Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      S36-5 (CLS) or S63-2 (LCLS) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      S36-6 (+B) or S63-16 (BDCY) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

  7. CHECK LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR CLOSER ASSEMBLY (OPERATION) 
    1. Temporarily replace the luggage compartment door closer with a new or normally functioning one (Refer to REMOVAL [09/2015 - ] ).
    2. Check the luggage compartment door closer operation.

      OK

      Luggage compartment door closer normal operation.

    Result:  OK

    OK 

    END (LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR CLOSER ASSEMBLY IS DEFECTIVE) 

    Result:  NG

    NG 

    REPLACE LUGGAGE ROOM JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY (REAR JUNCTION BLOCK ECU) 

  8. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (REAR JUNCTION BLOCK ECU - BATTERY)

    1. Disconnect the LG ECU connector.
    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      LG-1 (FUEL) - Body ground Always 11 to 14 V

    Result:  NG

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    Result:  OK

  9. INSPECT LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR CLOSER ASSEMBLY

    1. Remove the luggage compartment door closer (Refer to REMOVAL [09/2015 - ] ).
    2. Set the luggage compartment door closer assembly to the half-latch position.
    3. Apply battery voltage to the closer connector and check the closer operation.

      OK

      Measurement Condition Specified Condition
      Battery positive (+) → Terminal 1 (M+)
      Battery negative (-) → Terminal 4 (M-)      		 Door closer operation normal

    Result:  NG

    NG 

    REPLACE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR CLOSER ASSEMBLY 

    (Refer to REMOVAL [09/2015 - ] )

  10. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (LUGGAGE JUNCTION BLOCK ECU - LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR CLOSER)

    1. Disconnect the S36 closer connector.
    2. Disconnect the LA ECU connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      S36-1 (M+) - LA-1 (LCM+) Always Below 1 Ω
      S36-4 (M-) - LA-39 (LCM-) Always Below 1 Ω
      S36-1 (M+) or LA-1 (LCM+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      S36-4 (M-) or LA-39 (LCM-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    Result:  OK

    OK
