Removal [08/2019 - ]: Procedure

  1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
    WARNING:

    Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

    NOTE:
    • w/ Navigation System:

      After the engine switch is turned off, the display and navigation module display (navigation system) records various types of memory and settings. As a result, after turning the engine switch off, be sure to wait for the time specified in the following table before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.

      Condition Waiting Time
      Vehicle enrolled in safety connect system 6 minutes
      Vehicle not enrolled in safety connect system 1 minute
    • When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected (Refer to INITIALIZATION [08/2019 - 08/2021] , or refer to INITIALIZATION [08/2021 - 08/2022] , or refer to INITIALIZATION [08/2022 - ] ).
  2. REMOVE LOWER NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL AIRBAG ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to REMOVAL [08/2015 - ]

  3. REMOVE INSTRUMENT SIDE PANEL RH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 26 [08/2019 - 08/2021] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 26 [08/2021 - ]

  4. REMOVE CENTER INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL GARNISH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 27 [08/2019 - 08/2021] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 27 [08/2021 - ]

  5. REMOVE NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL REGISTER ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 28 [08/2019 - 08/2021] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 28 [08/2021 - ]

  6. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL BOX DOOR COVER 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 31 [08/2019 - 08/2021] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 31 [08/2021 - ]

  7. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL BOX ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 32 [08/2019 - 08/2021] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 32 [08/2021 - ]

  8. REMOVE WINDSHIELD WIPER RELAY ASSEMBLY 
    NOTE:
    • When removing the windshield wiper relay assembly, take care not to damage it.
    • Do not reuse a windshield wiper relay assembly that has been dropped or subjected to a strong shock.
    1. Remove the bolt.

      Bolt
      Connector
    2. Detach the 2 guides and remove the windshield wiper relay assembly.
    3. Disconnect the connector.
