Odo/Trip Switch Malfunction [08/2015 - 08/2019]: Procedure
- READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (ODO/TRIP CHANGE SW)
- Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
- Turn the engine switch on (IG).
- Turn the Techstream on.
- Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Combination Meter / Data List.
- Check the values by referring to the table below.COMBINATION METER
Tester Display Measurement Item/Range Normal Condition Diagnostic Note ODO/TRIP Change SW ODO/TRIP change switch/OFF or ON OFF: ODO/TRIP change switch released - ON: ODO/TRIP change switch pressed OK
The value displayed on the Techstream changes with the actual ODO/TRIP change switch operation.
Result:
OK
REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY
(Refer to REMOVAL [08/2015 - 08/2019] )

NG

- INSPECT TRIP SWITCH
- Remove the trip switch (Refer to REMOVAL [08/2015 - 08/2019]
).
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance
Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition 10 (A/B) - 11 (E) ODO/TRIP switch on (pushed) Below 1 Ω ODO/TRIP switch off (not pushed) 1 MΩ or higher TEXT IN ILLUSTRATION*a Component without harness connected

REPLACE TRIP SWITCH

- Remove the trip switch (Refer to REMOVAL [08/2015 - 08/2019]
).
- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY - TRIP SWITCH)
- Disconnect the G3 meter connector.
- Disconnect the G64 trip switch connector.
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance
Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition G3-11 (RSET) - G64-10 (A/B) Always Below 1 Ω G64-11 (E) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω G3-11 (RSET) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
