Operation Check [09/2014 - 10/2015]

  1. INSPECT INDICATOR/WARNING LIGHT 
    1. Check the following indicators and warning lights.
      Indicator/Warning Light Switch Condition Specified Condition
      Master warning light Power switch off → on (IG) Comes on for 3 seconds
      Brake warning light
      Slip indicator light
      Tire pressure warning light
      ABS warning light
      VSC OFF indicator light
      PCS warning light*

      Brake hold standby indicator light
      Brake hold operated indicator light
      SRS warning light Power switch off → on (IG) Comes on for 6 seconds
      MIL Power switch off → on (IG)
      • Illuminates when power switch turned on
      • Turns off when ready on
      Charge warning light
      EPS warning light
      • EPB*: Electric Parking Brake System
      • ECB*: Electronically Controlled Brake System
      • *: w/ Pre-collision System
  2. INSPECT SPEEDOMETER 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Data List.

      20 mph 18.9 to 22 mph
      40 mph 39.2 to 42.4 mph
      60 mph 59.5 to 62.9 mph
      80 mph 79.8 to 83.4 mph
      100 mph 100.2 to 103.8 mph
      120 mph 120.6 to 124.4 mph
      140 mph 141 to 144.8 mph
      160 mph 161.3 to 165.3 mph
      180 mph 181.7 to 185.7 mph
      FOR CANADA

      Standard Indication Acceptable Range
      20 km/h 18.4 to 22.4 km/h
      40 km/h 38.6 to 43.1 km/h
      60 km/h 58.7 to 63.8 km/h
      80 km/h 78.8 to 84.3 km/h
      100 km/h 99.2 to 104.8 km/h
      120 km/h 119.5 to 125.5 km/h
      140 km/h 139.7 to 146.2 km/h
      160 km/h 160.1 to 166.6 km/h
      180 km/h 180.4 to 186.9 km/h
      200 km/h 200.6 to 207.6 km/h
      220 km/h 221 to 228 km/h
      240 km/h 241.4 to 248.4 km/h
      260 km/h 261.8 to 268.8 km/h

      If the result is not as specified, the speedometer may have a malfunction.

      NOTE:

      Do not use worn, underinflated or overinflated tires as the speedometer reading will be inaccurate.

    5. Check the deflection width of the speedometer indicator.

      Reference

      Within 0.3°

  3. INSPECT TACHOMETER 
    1. Connect a tune-up tachometer and start the engine.
    2. Compare the test results with the tachometer indicator.

      DC 13.5 V at 25°C (77°F)

      Standard Indication (RPM) Acceptable Range
      Data in () is for Reference
      700 630 to 770
      1000 (900 to 1100)
      2000 (1850 to 2150)
      3000 2800 to 3200
      4000 (3800 to 4200)
      5000 4800 to 5200
      6000 (5750 to 6250)
      7000 6700 to 7300
      8000 (7700 to 8300)

      If the result is not as specified, the tachometer may have a malfunction.

  4. INSPECT METER/GAUGE 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Perform the Active Test (Refer to DATA LIST / ACTIVE TEST [09/2014 - 10/2015] ).

      OK

      Each meter/gauge needle indication is normal.

  5. INSPECT WARNING/INDICATOR LIGHT 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Perform the Active Test (Refer to DATA LIST / ACTIVE TEST [09/2014 - 10/2015] ).

      OK

      Each warning/indicator light can be turned on and off using the Techstream.

  6. INSPECT MULTI-INFORMATION DISPLAY 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Perform the Active Test (Refer to DATA LIST / ACTIVE TEST [09/2014 - 10/2015] ).

      OK

      All dots in the multi-information display can be turned on and off using the Techstream.

  7. INSPECT HEADUP DISPLAY (w/ Headup Display) 
    1. Test mode

      1. Operate the headup display switch assembly to display the DTCs for the headup display.

        HINT: 

        If any DTCs are displayed, this indicates that there is a communication malfunction with the combination meter assembly or the AVC-LAN.

        DTC Malfunction Status
        01 There is a loss of communication with the combination meter assembly (current malfunction).
        02 There is a loss of communication with the combination meter assembly (past malfunction).
        03 There is a loss of communication with the AVC-LAN (current malfunction).
        04 There is a loss of communication with the AVC-LAN (past malfunction).

    3. Customize
      1. Operate the headup display switch assembly to set the audio display function to ON or OFF.
