DTC C2198/98: Initialization Switch (for Test Mode DTC) [03/2014 - ]: Procedure

  1. INSPECT TIRE PRESSURE WARNING RESET SWITCH 
    1. Remove the tire pressure warning reset switch.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      1 (INT) - 2 (E) On Below 1 Ω
      Off 10 kΩ or higher
      TEXT IN ILLUSTRATION

      *a Component without harness connected
      (Tire Pressure Warning Reset Switch)
      *b On
      *c Off

    NG → See step   3 

    OK: Go to next step 

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (RESET SWITCH - TIRE PRESSURE WARNING ECU AND RECEIVER) 
    1. Disconnect the F21 tire pressure warning reset switch connector.
    2. Disconnect the P46 tire pressure warning ECU and receiver connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      P46-7 (CLSW) - F21-1 (INT) Always Below 1 Ω
      P46-7 (CLSW) or F21-1 (INT) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      F21-2 (E) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK → See step   4 

  3. REPLACE TIRE PRESSURE WARNING RESET SWITCH. Refer to  REMOVAL [03/2014 - ] 
  4. REPLACE TIRE PRESSURE WARNING ECU AND RECEIVER. Refer to  REMOVAL [03/2014 - ]
