Removal [04/2013 - 10/2017]: Procedure

  1. REMOVE FAN SHROUD 

    Refer to REMOVAL [04/2013 - 10/2017]

  2. REMOVE V-RIBBED BELT 

    See step  4

  3. DISCONNECT WIRE HARNESS (for 2WD) 
    1. Disconnect the engine oil pressure switch assembly connector.

    2. Remove the bolt and disconnect the wire harness.
  4. REMOVE CRANKSHAFT PULLEY 
    1. Using SST, hold the crankshaft pulley and loosen the crankshaft pulley bolt until only 2 or 3 threads are screwed into the crankshaft.

      • SST: 09330-00021 
    2. Using SST, remove the crankshaft pulley bolt and crankshaft pulley.

      *a Hold
      *b Turn
      • SST: 09950-50013 
        1. 09951-05010
        2. 09952-05010
        3. 09953-05010
        4. 09954-05021

      HINT: 

      Apply molybdenum grease to the threads and tip of SST (center bolt) prior to use.

  5. REMOVE CRANKSHAFT TIMING GEAR KEY 
    1. Using a screwdriver, remove the crankshaft timing gear key from the crankshaft groove.

      *1 Protective Tape

      HINT: 

      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

  6. REMOVE TIMING GEAR CASE OR TIMING CHAIN CASE OIL SEAL 
    1. Using a screwdriver, pry out the timing gear case or timing chain case oil seal.

      *1 Protective Tape
      NOTE:

      After the removal, check the crankshaft for damage.

      If it is damaged, smooth the surface with 400-grit sandpaper.

      HINT: 

      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
