Removal [08/2015 - ]: Procedure
- PRECAUTION NOTE:
After turning the engine switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal notices before proceeding with work.

- DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL NOTE:
When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.

- REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY
Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3 [08/2015 - 10/2016] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3 [10/2016 - 09/2020] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3 [09/2020 - ]
- REMOVE AIR CLEANER HOSE ASSEMBLY
- REMOVE ENGINE ROOM ECU COVER
Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3
- DISCONNECT ENGINE WIRE
- Raise the lever while pushing the lock on the lever, and disconnect the ECM connector.
*a Push *b Lock NOTE:After disconnecting the ECM connector, make sure that dirt, water or other foreign matter does not contact the connecting parts of the ECM connector.
- Remove the nut.
- Disengage the clamp.
- Disconnect the connector and remove the bolt.
- Disengage the clamp.
- Disconnect the intake air control valve (air by-pass valve assembly) connector.
- Disconnect the camshaft timing oil control solenoid assembly connector.
*a Camshaft Timing Oil Control Solenoid Assembly Connector *b Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor Connector - Disconnect the engine coolant temperature sensor connector.
- Disengage the clamp.
- Remove the 2 nuts.
- Raise the lever while pushing the lock on the lever, and disconnect the ECM connector.
- REMOVE INTAKE AIR CONTROL VALVE (AIR BY-PASS VALVE ASSEMBLY)
- Using a T30 "TORX" socket wrench, remove the 3 bolts and intake air control valve (air by-pass valve assembly) shown in the illustration.NOTE:
Do not drop or subject any component of the turbocharger sub-assembly to impact. If any component of the turbocharger sub-assembly is dropped or subjected to a strong impact, replace it with a new one.
- Using a T30 "TORX" socket wrench, remove the 3 bolts and intake air control valve (air by-pass valve assembly) shown in the illustration.
