DTC B1507: Open in Turn Signal Circuit; DTC B1508: Short in Turn Signal / Hazard Flasher Circuit [09/2014 - 10/2015]: Procedure

  1. CHECK FOR DTC 
    1. Clear the DTCs (Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [09/2014 - ] ).
    2. Check for DTCs (Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [09/2014 - ] ).

      OK

      DTC B1507 or B1508 output does not occur.

    Result: 

    OK 

    USE SIMULATION METHOD TO CHECK 

    (Refer to HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [09/2014 - 10/2015] )

    Result: 

    NG

  2. CONFIRM MALFUNCTIONING LIGHT 
    1. Check the malfunctioning turn signal light.
      RESULT

      Result Proceed to
      No right turn signal lights turn on A
      No left turn signal lights turn on B
      One of the right turn signal lights does not turn on C
      One of the left turn signal lights does not turn on D

    Result:

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY - FRONT MULTIPLEX NETWORK DOOR ECU RH) 
    1. Disconnect the N39 combination meter assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the Q4 front multiplex network door ECU RH connector.
    3. Disconnect the B2 headlight unit assembly RH connector.
    4. Disconnect the U43 rear combination light socket and wire sub-assembly RH connector.
    5. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      N39-13 (LR) - Q4-20 (TRNI) Always Below 1 Ω
      N39-13 (LR) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY 

    (Refer to REMOVAL [09/2014 - ] )

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY - FRONT MULTIPLEX NETWORK DOOR ECU LH) 
    1. Disconnect the N39 combination meter assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the Q19 front multiplex network door ECU LH connector.
    3. Disconnect the B5 headlight unit assembly LH connector.
    4. Disconnect the U45 rear combination light socket and wire sub-assembly LH connector.
    5. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      N39-7 (LL) - Q19-20 (TRNI) Always Below 1 Ω
      N39-7 (LL) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY 

    (Refer to REMOVAL [09/2014 - ] )

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

  5. CONFIRM MALFUNCTIONING LIGHT (RH SIDE) 
    1. Check the malfunctioning turn signal light.
      RESULT

      Result Proceed to
      Front turn signal light does not illuminate A
      Side turn signal light does not illuminate B
      Rear turn signal light does not illuminate C

    Result:

  6. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY - HEADLIGHT UNIT ASSEMBLY RH AND BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the N39 combination meter assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the B2 headlight unit assembly RH connector.
    3. Disconnect the Q4 front multiplex network door ECU RH connector.
    4. Disconnect the U43 rear combination light socket and wire sub-assembly RH connector.
    5. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      N39-13 (LR) - B2-16 Always Below 1 Ω
      B2-21 - Body ground
      N39-13 (LR) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE HEADLIGHT UNIT ASSEMBLY RH 

    (Refer to DISASSEMBLY [09/2014 - 10/2015] )

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

  7. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY - FRONT MULTIPLEX NETWORK DOOR ECU RH AND BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the N39 combination meter assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the Q4 front multiplex network door ECU RH connector.
    3. Disconnect the B2 headlight unit assembly RH connector.
    4. Disconnect the U43 rear combination light socket and wire sub-assembly RH connector.
    5. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      N39-13 (LR) - Q4-20 (TRNI) Always Below 1 Ω
      Q4-1 (GND) - Body ground
      N39-13 (LR) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    Result: 

    OK

  8. INSPECT OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSEMBLY RH 
    1. Remove the outer rear view mirror assembly RH (Refer to REMOVAL [09/2014 - ] ).

    2. Connect the positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal 16 and the negative (-) lead to terminal 12, and check that the light comes on.

      OK

      Light comes on.

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE FRONT MULTIPLEX NETWORK DOOR ECU RH 

    (Refer to DISASSEMBLY [09/2014 - ] )

    Result: 

    NG

  9. INSPECT SIDE TURN SIGNAL LIGHT ASSEMBLY RH 
    1. Remove the side turn signal light assembly RH (Refer to REMOVAL [09/2014 - ] ).
    2. Inspect the side turn signal light assembly RH (Refer to INSPECTION [09/2014 - ] ).

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE OUTER MIRROR ACTUATOR SUB-ASSEMBLY RH 

    (Refer to DISASSEMBLY [09/2014 - ] )

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE SIDE TURN SIGNAL LIGHT ASSEMBLY RH 

    (Refer to REMOVAL [09/2014 - ] )

  10. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY - REAR COMBINATION LIGHT SOCKET AND WIRE SUB-ASSEMBLY RH AND BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the N39 combination meter assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the U43 rear combination light socket and wire sub-assembly RH connector.
    3. Disconnect the B2 headlight unit assembly RH connector.
    4. Disconnect the Q4 front multiplex network door ECU RH connector.
    5. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      N39-13 (LR) - U43-2 (TRN) Always Below 1 Ω
      U43-4 (E) - Body ground
      N39-13 (LR) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE REAR COMBINATION LIGHT SOCKET AND WIRE SUB-ASSEMBLY RH 

    (Refer to REMOVAL [09/2014 - 10/2015] )

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

  11. CONFIRM MALFUNCTIONING LIGHT (LH SIDE) 
    1. Check the malfunctioning turn signal light.
      RESULT

      Result Proceed to
      Front turn signal light does not illuminate A
      Side turn signal light does not illuminate B
      Rear turn signal light does not illuminate C

  12. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY - HEADLIGHT UNIT ASSEMBLY LH AND BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the N39 combination meter assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the B5 headlight unit assembly LH connector.
    3. Disconnect the Q19 front multiplex network door ECU LH connector.
    4. Disconnect the U45 rear combination light socket and wire sub-assembly LH connector.
    5. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      N39-7 (LL) - B5-16 Always Below 1 Ω
      B5-21 - Body ground
      N39-7 (LL) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE HEADLIGHT UNIT ASSEMBLY LH 

    (Refer to DISASSEMBLY [09/2014 - 10/2015] )

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

  13. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY - FRONT MULTIPLEX NETWORK DOOR ECU LH AND BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the N39 combination meter assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the Q19 front multiplex network door ECU LH connector.
    3. Disconnect the B5 headlight unit assembly LH connector.
    4. Disconnect the U45 rear combination light socket and wire sub-assembly LH connector.
    5. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      N39-7 (LL) - Q19-20 (TRNI) Always Below 1 Ω
      Q19-1 (GND) - Body ground
      N39-7 (LL) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    Result: 

    OK

  14. INSPECT OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSEMBLY LH 
    1. Remove the outer rear view mirror assembly LH (Refer to REMOVAL [09/2014 - ] ).

    1. Remove the side turn signal light assembly LH (Refer to REMOVAL [09/2014 - ] ).
    2. Inspect the side turn signal light assembly LH (Refer to INSPECTION [09/2014 - ] ).

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE OUTER MIRROR ACTUATOR SUB-ASSEMBLY LH 

    (Refer to DISASSEMBLY [09/2014 - ] )

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE SIDE TURN SIGNAL LIGHT ASSEMBLY LH 

    (Refer to REMOVAL [09/2014 - ] )

  16. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY - REAR COMBINATION LIGHT SOCKET AND WIRE SUB-ASSEMBLY LH AND BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the N39 combination meter assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the U45 rear combination light socket and wire sub-assembly LH connector.
    3. Disconnect the B5 headlight unit assembly LH connector.
    4. Disconnect the Q19 front multiplex network door ECU LH connector.
    5. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      N39-7 (LL) - U45-2 (TRN) Always Below 1 Ω
      U45-4 (E) - Body ground
      N39-7 (LL) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE REAR COMBINATION LIGHT SOCKET AND WIRE SUB-ASSEMBLY LH 

    (Refer to REMOVAL [09/2014 - 10/2015] )

    Result: 

    NG
